Is it honorable to force men or women to wear veils or any particular garment?

The problem you have here is that you inevitably deal with a culture with religious, political, socio-economic, ethnic and historical influences and its impossible to separate them out. The idea of what constitutes a 'just cause' in a culture, is largely dependent on a cumulative impact of all of the above on a population. What is or is not 'just' is hard to quauntify and measure without using our values as a stick and that is problematic when our values are largely imprinted by our culture. .

Should we tolerate those who are intolerant of any but their own in group?

Is reciprocity fair play where you are?

we force women to cover their nipples, but not men. i dont think that is just.

I think requiring the covering of genitals is reasonable, and only in the interest of protecting minors from sexualization. beyond that, no.

You aren't paying attention. Since all gods are false gods definition #1 is applicable. And 3 and 4 also apply. Now if you have a religion with no god then you have a religion with no idol.

Of course since every religion thinks their god is real and every other god is an idol then all gods become idols.

Stay out of the strip bars and you will not have to worry about nipples.

Do you realize how many accidents we would have on our streets if women just went out with their nipples covered. Good grief the carnage.

I think that kids get all the sexualisation they can handle from all the porn producing adults who are wreaking them for their cash.

I think its safe to say that women wouldnt often be going topless, given that 99.999% of the time, they already cover more than they're required to. But if men are allowed to, women should be allowed to as well. I wont say its precisely the same as requiring burkas, but it is uncomfortably similar. Its also often used to ban public breastfeeding, which is rediculous.

    "all gods are false gods"

Try telling that to the Emperors who used to name themselves God.

Tolerate, sure. As long as their intolerance remains within their group.

I agree with your last but you are off your nut if you think women and men's breasts should have all the same rules everywhere.

Seems like all the tolerant societies began under Christian majorities.

When life was much harder in Europe than it is now people wanted cover from the sun, wind, and cold; and they wanted defense of the integument when traveling through brush and rough terrain.

Tropical climes are different because of the humidity and ambient heat which tend to put a human into hyperthermia and wearing the three piece suit in such places is absolutely nuts imo -- although laborers in Southeast Asia, especially women, are seen covered from head to foot with thick garments and scarves -- the explanation I received was that they were already of dark colored skin and did not want to get any darker.

The scuttlebutt then was that if they took away your military ID, gave you a Hawaiian shirt, hush puppies, civvy slacks, an AK, and ordered you to follow that spook you were in for hell on earth.

Historically clothing has been a function of what you were doing and where you were doing it. Even today few people follow or care about high fashion.

They can't possibly let women go topless now with all the immigrants in the country, not with what is happening in Europe.

Any one can have a seems like. Doesn't mean much. Since it's just an opinion.
Look at the USA, wasn't very tolerant in the beginning to women and blacks.

I can tolerate a little self pride.

But, Canada has been right behind the USA in conquering Iraq, promoting Israeli ethnic cleansing, etc.

And, your topic is just plain pathetic when coming from one more nation backing America's morally bankrupt and hypocritical direction.

Enlighten me. What other other nation or people had more freedom, more individual rights than Americans did back in 1789?

Ask the native American indigenous people about that. Or any non white male.
You enlighten us how great everyone had it.
