Okay...follow me here for a sec. Clearly everything Obama is for....the Republicans will soon be against. So....what if Obama never wanted to strike Syria, but acted as if he did to get the Republicans to oppose this action....thus preventing the country from starting another war?
If the plan includes weakening Obama and making him look foolish.... nah. Your theory doesn't hold. There was no initial, massive outpouring of Republican clamoring for war for this idea to make sense.
