Is the US transitioning to Roman Empire 2?

The Boston Tea party was criminal trespass, destruction of property, and a bit violent against property. But those were our guys vs them guys so our guys conducted a patriotic intrusion in order to deliver a message to the British Crown.

I'm really confused with this constant Boston Tea Party comparison the pro-rioters have been making the past few weeks. The people who performed that "tea party" couldn't vote or had any representation in their government. That's not the case now. If you are going to act like you live in a dictatorship even when you live in a democracy eventually, you'll get a real dictatorship rather than the one you're cosplaying against.

 

And so it goes, humans rationalize the crimes committed by their friends, and demonize those other humans who dare to do the same.

It's all about perspective. We can render and torture and give commendations for such behavior. When others render and torture, that means war.

We can overthrow legitimate governments around the world to our heart's content, but if anybody else tries it, watch out.

Hypocrisy is what it is really.
