Is the West forcing its belief system on Islam?

We always here that Muslims force Islam on others, (even though non-Muslims following their own religious codes and have their own courts in Islamic states).

However, all I see is the opposite. The West has been forcing its beliefs on the Muslim world ever since it destroyed the Ottoman empire. They forced the Western concept of nationstates on Muslim lands, and encouraged them to fight one another based on the Western idea of nationalism.

Fastforward some decades later, and the US (who after WWII took over the white man's burden from Europe) invaded Iraq and forced Western Democracy on the country.

And then you have all that crap entertainment (Britney Spears and what not) being broadcasted into Muslim lands. And so forth.

So, whenever some Westerners whine about Islam forcing their religion on non-Muslims, I just regard their stance as mere projection.

And boy do they project.

 

You can only live in peace, tolerance, & harmony with others who wish the same. If a neighboring nation wants to conquer you, kill your people, take your stuff, & force you to accept their ideology, then resisting them is not intolerance, it is self defense.

 

If we're not, we should. Why should we allow the bigots to maim women for learning, stone women for conversing with other men, not allow women the same exact rights as men, strap suicide vests to themselves in the name of allah...

Might do them some good to be civilized.

But to answer your question, if we are doing it, we're doing a poor job.

That's like arguing Muslims have the right to bring Islam to the West, given that you have to be civilized.

 

The West has evolved, to learn and understand certain universal human rights and freedom.

Freedom of religion. Freedom of the press. Freedom of speech. Freedom from discrimination. Freedom to not treated lesser due to being a woman.

these are universal

 

No they are not. All those are not supported by Islam

This is where many westerners are mistaken.

 

Actually, the West has devolved. And no, they are not universal. They are concepts pulled out of the asses of some Western political writers.

Muslims aren't forced to watch Western movies or TV shows .. nor are they forced to eat pizza and Kentucky Fried Chicken.

The French hated when the Nazis sang "Watch On the Rhine" and felt compelled to sing their national anthem in the name of 'liberty'. Evidently, somebody forgot to tell them they had invaded Morocco uninvited (as they did with Algeria and Vietnam among other victim nations) and had no business imposing their imperialistic depredations upon those Africans or anyone else.
