Developing a technology to lengthen telomerase and help people live longer is tricky bcs telmorase is one of the regulating mechanisms that prevent cells from becoming cancerous.

For example, cancer cells require a mechanism to maintain their telomeric DNA in order to continue dividing indefinitely (immortalization). A mechanism for telomere elongation or maintenance is one of the key steps in cellular immortalization and can even be used as a diagnostic marker.

However, it has been suggested that a combination of lifestyle modifications, including healthy diet, exercise and stress reduction, have the potential to increase telomere length, reverse cellular aging, and reduce the risk for aging-related diseases.

Easiest approach right now is to take antioxidants, particularly Resveratrol, but don't over do it. I do it intermittently only because of the cancer concerns. Resevratrol has an action reported to specifically strengthen telomeres.
