Supremacy come from early tribes who developed different technologies, many time superior to their rivals. Writing, for example allowed for an earlier transfer of information, there was also farming, and mining, etc. And before you knew it, schools were born. Those tribes with the greatest grip on intellect became the victors.
To this day there are Stone Age tribes Bronzeage tribes, etc, who are completely happy being backward tribes. But they don’t thrive here.
