I hope it's true, because I think the Youtube videos of Italy being invaded by enemies in their own stolen coast guard rescue boats would be hilarious. Does anyone here know much about Italy's politics?
Can't say I know internal Italian politics very well but I do know its only a matter of time until terrorists groups start hitting more modern countries in force. You can already see it starting in smaller degrees but they will not be contained in the ME. The liberal mindset currently in hold of much of Europe which forbids the rejection of immigration for national security reasons is going to be responsible for letting many of these people infiltrate into their nations and then its just downhill from there. With Muslim populations growing at an alarming rate in Western Nations we will eventually see more demands and action from this demographic. Let's just say these demands will probably be asking for a lot more than a Christian group would ask for. When they are denied they will radicalize and strike out as they do, much to the detriment of the host nation. Muslim immigration into Europe has never, never, never turned out well in all of human history from ancient times to recent times.
I don't find it hilarious. I think I read that Italy has about 5000 soldiers. Isis numbers range around 200,000 or so....but they have enough numbers to take cities and territory. Why do you think this is funny? Who is going to help Italy if a mass of Isis militants take over Italy cities or towns? Obama? France? I'm thinking Italy is in a bad situation....and all they can do is take there concerns to the laughable UN.

I think it would be GREAT if ISIS invaded Europe. Hope they don't ask US for help, they shouldn't get it and be turned down flat. We intervened in 2 world wars already, this one's on them.
Well this is what happens when people whine about spending on defense, you leave your country open to invasion. I don't feel sorry for them since their liberal mentality has allowed them to drastically cut military spending. Maybe it will teach them a lesson.
200,000 IS soldiers supposedly. Against the entire EU they can kill all of them since they have around 4.5 million troops total. How long that takes and what they have to deal with in that process is the issue.
for now, they'll get bailed out by other incentivized countries, at least to a certain extent - as long as the currencies are linked, the rest of the team has to jump in, i cant see how that would work politically otherwise

Italy should get involved if you watch any of Islamic state's videos they constantly talk about taking over Rome. I think its weird London Washington even Paris I could understand but why Rome why? Some people say its because Italy is the center of Christianity and that all western countries speak " romance" languages so I guess I undertsand but its strange they don't talk about Jerusalem or even new York but Rome seems too be their goal and I don't know why

Italy has much more than that, around 150,000 soldiers and 100,000 national police. They might want to start recruiting more though.

Doing that would spell doom for them. They'v already kinda bided their time, hence why they exist. If the US, Canada, Russia, the whole EU and anyone else they've vexed decided to invade IS at once and use every bit of military strength they could spare, IS wouldn't last very long.
