......since Ron Paul gave his "Predicitions' speech (April 24, 2002). I think it's appropriate to post the speech today today for any that haven't seen it and to refresh the memories of those that have. Sad to say, he was more right than wrong in his predictions. ... and Ron will never see the inside of the Oval Office, unless he buys a White-House Tour Ticket. ... Just like Willard.
Any well read and on the button commentator and analyst would have made those same predictions . It was relatively easy a decade ago , once you knew what US Geo Political Strategy was . The next decade will be difficult and far too complex for this guy . Now there is no all embracing premiss to start with and fragmentation of the US , Russia and Europe are all highly likely . If the US implodes , which I believe it will , the permutations are far too great for even a powerful Computer to handle .
Paul was right about some things, wrong about others, but mostly political. FYI Bombing and then rebuilding what you bomb? That is established by international law before Paul was born. If you bomb a nations roads, bridges, buildings, factories, YOU ARE responsible for the damage you cause. That is why losing a war to the USA is very good business. The USA has to pay the loser billions. The loser, since they barely scratch the USA has to pay little. That's international law. England and Germany had to pay each other for they damage they did to each other so there are offsetting costs. Not so with the untouched USA, we pay out, we don't take in. In the Philippines, we liberated the country from Japanese rule. But we still had to pay for all the damage we did to the country. Our last war 'reparations' payment to the PI arrived in the early 60's. There was a hotly contested Presidential Campaign being fought in the PI at the time. $63 million US was sent to the PI to finish our damage payments. The incumbent president sailed away the next day. Didn't stay for the election and neither he nor the $63 million has been seen since. [Altho it is now known that he and the money ended up in Switzerland] Paul knew all that, so he was not making a prediction. He knew that few would know that we have to pay for what we blow up. But all his "predictions, right or wrong, WHAT HAS HE DONE ABOUT THEM? nothing. nothing at all.
Source, please. I've never heard of this, but it is a fact that both Germany and Japan were ordered to make reparations, but even in those cases, international law wasn't cited.
Ron Paul understands economics and foreign policy. He may not be 100% correct, nor have the empirical analytical abilities to quantify his deductive reasoning, yet Austrian School thought has core moral enemies, and many of them show their ugly heads time and time again throughout history. Even way back in 2002, when I was in elementary school, I was hesitant about the legitimacy of the Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, simply because I thought it was wrong to kill people, and because I questioned the claims of WMD's. If a 2nd grader could somewhat understand the consequences of our foreign policy, you know we are on the wrong path.
Welll it has been over 20 years since the majority of Americans have figured out this guy is a racist why hasnt the rest of the 15% of blow hard Republicans figured it out??
Every single THINKING person was saying the same things Ron Paul was saying. In fact, RP wasn't speaking his own words, but parroting somebody else. There is NO mystery about what happened, and why. NONE.
Ron Paul's principles follow closely to original intent of the Constitution. We have strayed very far afield of the Constitution which makes his predictions relevant. Paul has remained principled throughout his career, more than I can say for most political animals. His predictions may be off, but then, he may be a bit short on the timeline and it may be more than 10 years. Thanks for the video, it is telling that it was given in 2002, long before much of this came to fruition. America is an empire and empires tend to fail under their own weight. I think we see that happening now.
No he's not. He's looking out for himself, and his family, only. Anybody who thinks that a long-term politician is "looking out for us" is an idiot.
in 1988 ron paul said: "I anticipate, and many Austrian free market economists anticipate, that the recession that's coming will not be a recession at all but it will a depression and it will probably be bigger than the one we had in the 1930s" (see it at 2:44) nearly 24 years later and still no depression
Ron Paul is the real deal. He holds the principles of limited govt, the Constitution, and individual liberty sincerely. Racism has become any alleged "thought crime" any liberal chooses to label anyone. Sometimes the recipient slinks away with falsely earned self loathing and sometimes the recipient stands up and calls it the BS that it is. Playing the race card on me is a waste of time. I know my conscience is clear and what the game really is. The real racists are on the left and they're just bullies using a tactic.. It's SO easy to call someone a racist. That doesn't mean they are. He is not a racist. That's just hate speech from the real racists. The dem party USES Blacks to get votes. It's been that way for decades. The Great Society agenda did irreparable harm to Blacks. That's all you you guys, dems. .
If people can excuse the racist President Johnson who could never find an anti lynching bill he could vote for while a Senator, I am sure the same Democrats can find it in their hearts to forgive Paul for any discrepancy.
Dujac, King of Trolling. Apparently taking it into perspective of his prediction of a larger depression... we've yet to see everything play out. What we have now is the Federal Government pumping trillions into the Private Market hoping for some reversal and the continuation of the warfare & misuse FIAT currency the US is going to hit the wall hard.
