I agree with everything you wrote in that post.

This point is tough. I’m in another thread with someone who doesn’t believe the brain can have a chemical imbalance.

This country has gotten collectively dumber. It’s hard to work with complex brain issues as a society, if a portion of society doesn’t believe the brain can have deviations from the norm.

Yeah, we've had a severe drought out here in Colorado, on and off for 20 years. But this past winter it was especially bad... it snowed up in the mountains, so the ski areas did OK, but everywhere else it was 'parchment-dry'. Two days ago it was 90 degrees in the Denver/Colorado Springs area with high fire danger... then, suddenly, we got a monster snow. A really wet, heavy snow like you guys back-east get. Happy for the water-content, but the damage to a lot of people's trees will be considerable... I lost several branches, but nothing catastrophic.

Oh, well, as far as gun violence is concerned, if we make the penalties for committing crimes with guns bad enough -- and STAND BY THEM, on a 'zero-tolerance' basis, we will have a lot fewer of those kinds of crimes, IMHO.... Throw 'em in prison, and keep them in prison!

Oh gosh I’m sorry to hear that. Where I live we get minidroughts but nothing as extreme as that. Hang in there. Glad you got some snow at least. That’s one of the few things I like about NY. It’s got a mostly stable climate.

Yes, it's more than obvious that other countries will eclipse us in a minute. It's heartbreaking.

Please pm a link to the other thread. Unless the person abstains from ALL pharmaceuticals and OTCs, it's impossible to truly believe that brain chemicals can't be resolved. That makes no sense.

I had to take Biology of the Brain as a freshman in college. And, nobody has to walk up a hill in a blinding snow storm with cardboard shoes to get to a library these days. Almost ALL information in the world outside North Korea is a keyword search away. At this point, ignorance is willful. I feel dumber just having to type that. LOL

~ The deliberate dumbing-down of American society continues unabated — thanks in large part to lazy government , politicized public education and tainted media .
The old "BoobTube " of the 1950's-60's was not so bad due to moral standards, societal ethics and more intelligent writing .

    :buggered::confuse: We are doomed ... ! :pc:

And the Press used fixed type. Are you claiming that the Freedom of the Press only applies to fixed type?
    Enforce existing law.

Under Obama federal gun crime prosecutions DROPPED by 40%.

"A 2003 study found that over three years, roughly 2% of federal gun crimes were prosecuted."

They always want more gun laws but they don't enforce the ones they have.

:confuse:' ~ Now that is a novel concept ! Try enforcement of existing laws and see how that works out first before making new ones ...

Then why are you worried about more gun laws?

Enforcing gun laws against the criminally violent would be in collision with their soft on crime, no bail, catch and release approach that they are following. If they actually wanted to cut gun violence, they would enforce the gun laws on gangs, but, another thing to ask yourself; how is it that all these gangs operate openly in these Blue Cities? If you follow the money, I think the answer becomes very apparent.

And where are the FBI and the DOJ? Oh, they are busy with investigating parents who speak up a board meetings as "terrorists" so they can't be bothered with organized crime buying up the local politicians.
