The Islamophobia I see here is as if we, when WWII was over, were to have gone into Germany and revived Auschwitz, Dachau etc to kill all the Germans, instead of just the Nazis. As has been said here almost ad nauseam, ISIS is a very tiny and highly heretical sect of Islam, somewhat like the Branch Davidians or the Westboro Church is to Christianity. Islam is not inherently evil and not all Muslims are terrorists. You may think yourself an expert on the peoples of the ME and in some aspects perhaps you are but you know almost nothing about the many, many layers of the alliance between the U.S. and Israel. There are things that happen between the two country's intelligence agencies and military cooperation that you know nothing about. Many of our more advanced military technologies were either developed or tested or both in Israel. The IAF, while equipped largely by the U.S., is the absolute best in the world, bar none. The U.S. has superior planes and certain more of them but most of our elite pilots are trained by the Israelis. I have personally spent months, training and being trained by, IDF combat troops. They are tough and efficient. There have been operations you have never heard of, many of them covert rescue missions, that were planned and carried out from Israel.

They are the one country that if the ME really caught fire, would bend over backwards to provide combat and air support to American Troops if the U.S. were unable to provide it ourselves.
