Ivanka is an unpaid, official advisor to the president and essentially works for the government.

 

And having full control of emails benefits whom? Certainly not anyone looking for information under the FOIA. I'm not sure where you read that I wrote Ivanka only sent personal emails.

 

A spokesman for Trump attorney and ethics counsel Abbe Lowell, Peter Mirijanian, told the Post that Ivanka Trump used her private email to discuss government business before being briefed about the rules.

“While transitioning into government, after she was given an official account but until the White House provided her the same guidance they had given others who started before she did, Ms. Trump sometimes used her personal account, almost always for logistics and scheduling concerning her family,” he said in a statement.

He added that Ivanka Trump turned over her emails about government-related business months ago. Mirijanian also said Ivanka Trump’s personal email use differed from Clinton’s.

“Ms. Trump did not create a private server in her house or office, no classified information was ever included, the account was never transferred at Trump Organization, and no emails were ever deleted,” Mirijanian said.

The Post notes that Clinton had a similar reaction to the revelation about her private email server. However, Clinton’s case differed in that she relied solely on a private email system for official emails while serving in the Obama administration.

The Post said Trump sent less than 100 emails on her private server to discuss official business with other administration officials and other emails to personal assistants about her travel arrangements and White House schedule.

 

Do you know the difference between a private email account and a personal email account? Hint; most people don't set up their own private server. They use an ISP for their personal email.

 

What if she uses her personal e-mail account for government business?

Jailed for what? She was investigated twice, and both times, found no criminal activity. Even the Presidential and Federal Records Act Amendments state that the penalties are administrative, not criminal. So why would she be jailed?

I'm not suggesting Ivanka be jailed. I think that her activity should be scrutinized, as was Hillary's.

I would add, thought, that the fact she had the Hillary example in her face for the past 2+ years only shows how 'above the law' she must consider herself.

 

Everyone is given a government email account, and some are also given a government cell phone. I received both when I was a supervisor for a government contractor. No one should be using their own cell phones or email accounts when conducting government business. NO ONE!
