    Classic!

"Look guys, we can't be the racists .... we just installed a brown puppet!"

It's tragic that we fell for it, in hindsight. Myself included :(

So you're saying it takes MAGIC, for a non-white person to make a success of their lives?

    Wow.

The main buyers were white, they made the market.

Slavery largely died out after Rome fell. It still existed and even thrived in some areas throughout the next millennia but the prevalence of disease and short life spans made it an unfeasible arrangement on anything like the scale the ancients practiced. It was even dying in the Southern colonies when the invention of the cotton gin made cotton picked by slaves a viable crop. Cotton cloth, until then prohibitively expensive, was something of a miracle fabric at the time, and fortunes were made in the American South, where cotton was grown, but also in England, where clothing was made from it.

The average progressive gives them very little credit for being able to accomplish anything in life. A classic case of the soft bigotry of low expectations.

If someone else deliberately puts obstacles in your way that prevent you from doing something does that mean you are incapable of doing it?

I don't waste my time engaging in the frivolous act of mental masturbation pondering what ifs.

The CRA and other laws made racism illegal, BUT IT DIDN'T CHANGE ANYONE'S MIND.

I see. Liberals don't see women subjected to your anti-abortion laws as victims.
Anecdotal stories are wonderful. Do you have more for us?

Overt racism, but not the legacy and not private racism.
It never went away. Both parties have exploited it.

    Huh? Blacks were still victims.

It sure looks like you're trying to excuse not helping people who still suffer from the effects of racism.

I'd say overt racism is worse than whites patronizing blacks.

Now that you're done trashing what's-her-name, what would you do to help poor people of all races?

I love how the scale clearly reaches in to 2022 but the slide is somehow left at 2020 :)

Here is a scale with some current numbers.. LMFAO :)

So to your question, reduce the dependency and strengthen the economy, and create jobs/growth. And for the love of God use accurate and up to day data :)

So what? Blacks were still victims.
So, you figure @Pelham Gardens didn't know about slavery until the 1619 Project?
    Irrelevant.

You want me to include the pandemic years that punished workers?
Do you even understand the issue?

Workers have done four decades without an increase in real income. Many workers are worse off, especially older workers with dated skills.

I taught school for three decades. The pay was a joke, especially when I've been working with computers since the 1960s and have university training in economics, business and history.

I see all these people saying that white people need to do things to dismantle racism and set things right.. . But when I asked them for specific examples about what they're doing they come up woefully short of answers.

So you taught school. That's something I guess, education is important.

Punish workers? Odd way of looking at it, considering it was a Chinese created pandemic, but anyway! I was merely exposing the lack of all data available and your choice of year to stop at ;)
