Where she stands, is confusing. She is rated biggest progressive Senate voter but also said to be a moderate. Someone here said that the rankings of progressive v. conservative in voting records is not as meaningful, due to bills having so many amendments. One never knows why someone voted for or against some individual bill.

She does strike me as a flip-flopper, whatever favors her career. It is hard to know what a President Harris would look like. I'm a bit reassured by your article, though, showing that progressives weren't happy with her selection. I think the Dem Progressives are toxic and divisive and I don't want them prevailing in any way, shape, or form.

I don't like Harris being for healthcare on our taxpayers' backs for people illegally crossing the border. I consider this position to be outrageous and disqualifying. Oh well, I did vote for her... because of the ticket. I wanted to dislodge Donald Trump, which was my primary reason to vote for the Biden/Harris ticket.

The thing is, even though there is a risk of more progressive influence if she becomes the POTUS, I'd have voted for the flea on the back of my worst enemy's dog if the flea were running against Donald Trump.

Congress actually banned earmarks back in 2011, but now some Democrats are trying to resurrect them. Moments ago I introduced a bill in the House that would stop this effort in its tracks and make permanent the federal ban on earmarks, because they’re a horrible way to appropriate your tax dollars.

So what! The reason that they were in those cages was to send a message to potential illegals. I do not like the fact that over time both parties ignored the fact that illegals entered our country. Illegals are criminals yet we need other ways than doing cruel things to children and bragging about it as Sessions did to control illegal entry. I do not consider illegal to be "immigrants". They are criminal aliens. We can and at times need to be harsh with adults but let's not use cruelty to children to control adults.

 

The reason they were in those cages is because of administration's prior to trump made it the standard. Trump ended it even if his words were not the greatest. I understand the child should never be put in those circumstances whatsoever and I do agree 100% about the way they held children for several administrations.

 

I do not have any problem the cages because the cages are not by themselves the problem. The problem is that Sessions flat out admitted they , the Trump administration, used family separation as a weapon to start illegal entry and a.so to Geary asylum seekers whether they were honestly true real asylum seekers or not.

The cages are a useful tool for temporary holding of attempted entrants until we can accretion if they need to be sent back over the border or if they have a plausible case for POSSIBLE asylum.

While this process goes on for say ninety six hours but do not separate children from parents.

So the cages are fine it the misuse of those cases that is the problem.

 

If you get a DUI with your kids they seperate you, if you evade the police your kids get separated from you, and if you commit a crime where jail is a consequence they seperate the children and parents. The kids dont go to jail because they didnt make the decision nor were an accomplice. If you break the law tough ****.

 

The separation of American who get a DWI is temporary , at least as far as I understand it. The children of the illegals were sent off to foster homes and their parents were sent back towards where they came from. The children of the idiots who get a DUI with kids in the car are not summarily punished as are the children of the illegal entrants.

The foster parents are spread out all over.

As I said where there were children with family captured or surrendered at the border send them back as a family unit do not separate. Any children here alone get them back with the guidance of the embassy of their home country.
