Again, my point was that the Citizens United decision opened the floodgates for dark money to pour into campaigns. The GOP has no grounds to complain that the Dems are using it, too.

 

Im saying the political system was already being run by corporate money before Citizens United.

Doesn't matter, Hillary spent way more money than Trump last time, and in the primaries Trump beat among others Jeb Bush who spent $100,000,000 and got nowhere.

 

And in 2012, conservative SuperPACs spent hundreds of millions on Romney, only to lose it all.

My point is that there was already too much money in our elections, then along came the ultra conservative group Citizens United to make it worse, and now those same conservatives act surprised when the opposition uses their opening to pour money into the process.
