Says who? I thought there was a difference between a weather event and a Climate event because when someone even joking says see it's not global warming we're freezing that is always the rebuttal.

And what do you mean do you mean this is climate change or global warming?

Where I live there is a causeway over 5 rivers which feed out to the Gulf of Mexico. That causeway when it was built at the beginning of the 20th century was about a foot above sea level. If the tides are coming in and a big storm comes up from the Gulf at the same the Eastbound, southside lanes will flood over, if it ramps up a little more it will cover both lanes so it has to be shutdown.

There is a raise expressway which runs in tangent with it. It's been like that since I was a kid back in the 50's. It's like that now the water level hasn't risen. I know people who have had family homes on both sides of the bay, they have the same beach they've always had, the boat docks have not had to be raised because of rising sea levels.
Now on the coast there has been some "sea level rise" but it is not caused by rising sea but by subsidence which is just a natural process

But what it is is that EVERYTHING shows climate change because Climate ALWAYS changes. But then Capt Nice just said one storm DOES mean something or at least that's how I read it.

Hey Josh, I think you are right. The whole damn thing is just unsustainable. Sort of like a Ponzi scheme, as long as there is plenty pouring in, lots can be taken out. But when the resources stop coming in, it is game over. Seems that every institution we have requires a growing economy, more people putting in more money, but it can't go on forever.... Social Security requires more people putting into it than taking out of it. Stock market is the same way. We can't simply add to the national debt forever. Most everything else too. Prosperity will have to be replaced with austerity.

Problem is, who is going to volunteer for that? Most of us old folks are going to continue with our status quo of pleasure and wastefulness, young people want to fulfill their life dreams and pleasures, most other countries are certainly not going to scale back, and any that do are going to be left in the dust heap. In the end, it will all be forced upon future generations to suck it up. It is difficult to discern whether one should be worried about it, or simply live out our lives as we are accustomed to. So when it comes to austerity, I will let the other guy go first - because he probably isn't going to do it either.

Finite resources are rationed. When fossil fuel shortages occur (if they ever do before we transition to better energy sources) the market will ration supply. Innovation in alternatives will increase proportional to the degree of shortage. Alternatives already in existence will become more utilized as they become more price competitive. There will be no mass depopulation as a result of finite fossil fuels. (Unless of course governments get too heavily involved and don’t let market forces work.)

The idea one day we go to the “fossil fuel barrel” and are shocked to see it’s empty is not logical or rational. Can anyone tell me when peak oil will even occur?

And that is the big problem. Who will volunteer for that? Likely no one. Which means we will be facing starvation, wars for dwindling resources, rioting, and a general loss of civility as incoming energy in terms of fuel, food, and everything else can no longer meet demand. Should be a good time, lol.

You are correct, and further supported by the FACT that the dreaded Carbon Dioxide makes up no more than 0.04% of the Earth's atmosphere! Moreover CO2 is necessary for organic life even to EXIST on this planet. You can post this information here, as I have, a thousand times -- and it doesn't even make a DENT....

Too bad so many of these 'woke' morons didn't take SCIENCE classes in college instead of more of the usual artsy-fartsy 'liberal-arts' curricula....

Kerry as an individual pollutes more than 99.99999% of other humans. And when you include his family that rises even more. The wealthiest people who scream the loudest always pollute the MOST. They have bigger homes, more vehicles and buy more stuff that damages the planet more than any average person. They’re such ****ing hypocrites.
