Near the DC area here, anyone ever experienced an earthquake? Felt a little drunk while it happened but things started shaking so it didn't look to be a medical issue.
No I most definitely felt it too, and at first I thought it was someone running around upstairs at my job. This is one of those few moments where I was completely unnerved.
Yea looks like Virginia, NY and D.C. got hit with a 5.7 magnitude earthquake. Our workers called up to let us know right away, thankfully no damage. EDIT: I didn't mention that they were on a roof, lol! Poor guys!
Well, yeah. I live in the Pacific NW - have gone thru several earthquakes and also a volcano when Mt. St. Helen's, which is in my area, blew her lid off........
5.9 is just a small tremor..i would worry more about the the hurricane that is coming..in Calif this is what we feel all the time..no biggie..
We felt it. We're 2 hours west of DC. Important facilites and people are being evacuated. Take note people. You are not on the list of priorities.
Would anyone who was on the east coast like a shirt that says "I survived the east coast quake of 2011?"
Kinda - but I understand your panic and fear, especially if this is the first time you've experienced this. They say that the Seattle Space Needle is quake proof b/c it was built on rollers to sway w/the quake..... I sure hope it does. I was up in that thing once and that was enuf for me.......
My goodness. I have never seen folks get so up in arms over a small earthquake. No reports of structural damage or injuries. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/08/2...ginia-sends-shockwaves-throughout-east-coast/ Jesus, what happens when the wind goes above 3 mph? Do folks back east start wailing about tornadoes?
It was felt at least as far north as vermont. I live in upstate ny, and people are all in a buzz about it because we never feel earthquakes up here. I didn't feel it personally, but alot of people here did.
