Hillary was lazy and ceded both the media and the campaign trail to Trump. I'm sure if Harris is the nominee, she won't do that. Hillary totally lack any energy or enthusiasm for campaigning and or doing what it took to win. I'm sure Harris will have that energy and enthusiasm do do everything she can to win. Hillary came across to non-affiliated voters as aloof, elitist with the charisma of a wet mop. Harris is young and a fresh fact, not a tired old asset. Hillary failed to energize her base of support, Harris I'm sure would.

If Hillary hadn't been so lazy and showed a bit of fire in the belly, she would be president today. Oh well!

What's inauthentic about it? She was taught to identify with her black heritage by her mother (and father). It's not unusual for a parent of another race who has a biracial child with African ancestry to recognize that society will see them as a minority, Such parents often try to equip them for prejudice by encouraging them to be proud of this ancestry. This is quite normal and I'm amazed that you don't know this ... The same thing happened to Obama, Halle Berry, etc.

Clearly if you tell a subsaharian african that Kamala Harris is black, he will laugh for a hour. I know some people blacker than her that are of mixed heritage which could be fully considered to be black in an american context that wen called "toubab" in western Africa.
So from a subsaharian african point of view, even if I'm not one, I'm pretty sure it's ridiculous to call her black. However, USA are a culture fully different from Africa, so I can't really say if she can't be called black considering that context, neither I really care of her colour of skin. If she has a poor morality, either she is black or white it's not very relevant.
I'm pretty sure that the democrats want to campaign on "first black wahmen president", which is maybe their best argument.

I hear you. Frankly, it is concerning, but I'm going to take a look at the rest of his record and at his positions on policies that are relevant today.

My husband's Ghanian family describe me as Akata (a term for African-Americans). They have a biracial brother. I believe he is called Oburi. At the end of the day, we're all black and identify as such.

Probably. I don't really know ghanean people, I know more people of Senegal, Ivory Coast and Mali. And about the one of mixed heritage called "white", it was in the countryside where some people never saw some white people, I can't really talk about the situation in big cities.

This term originated in Nigeria but other West Africans use it. I've been to the big city of Accra, The Point of No Return in Cape Coast and the village of Tekoradi (I'm probably spelling that wrong). I haven't been to other countries in Africa. I'm sure attitudes vary, but we are generally viewed as people of African descent who are culturally different and a bit mixed. I don't want to suggest that there aren't lighter skinned native Africans. In fact, they couldn't tell where I was from until I opened my mouth. I'm about Coretta Scott King's complexion, I guess but strangers couldn't tell that I wasn't African just by looking at me.

    She’ll clean his clock too.

When you consider that every one of Trump’s lawyers was violently opposed to him being deposed in person, and all of his former attorneys remembered how bad (and self destructive) he was when he was deposed in civil matters, just imagine him being worked over by a skilled prosecutor in a nationally televised debate.

That’s nice. But the word I used has six letters. I’m sure you’re familiar with the term.

I really don't understand how a woman who's personal story is so obviously not that of an African American seems willing to put those robes on anyway. It isn't like she either lived that struggle, nor has her family. it appears that her father's family are direct descendants of plantation and slave owners in Jamaica.... That seems to be about right though as her mother's family were part of the Indian upper caste,... plantation ownership seems to run through her veins..

What I see is a big difference in perception of the left and right wing extremists.

The left are viewed on the right of courting minorities for political advantage and it's sad to say the left often misses the opportunity to set the record straight. I would argue that the core reason this appears to be the case isn't that the left courts minorities, it's the left opposes elitism, something minorities also oppose. It's also a fact that many people aren't either left or right. The mid-Atlantic area is full of moderates. It's my experience, people in general, including conservatives, aren't fond of elitism.

So, of course, an ideology highly opposing elitism is against Republican and conservative/libertarian views supporting elitism. It isn't the ideology of the right that dictates it's support for elitism, it's the politics of the Republican Party, a party of sell outs, rotten to the bone.

I don't what you are ethnically speaking, but I'm speaking of someone half-white, half-black which was called "toubab" (white). Basically he looks like Jussie Smolett, but at the different of J.S, he is someone honnest. Kamala Harris is clearly whiter than most people of mixed heritage (white black or asian black), in fact, she looks like some arabic women I know. I wouldn't be surprized if she would be mistaken for an arabic woman in some subsharian african country.

I never had the money/time to go in subsaharian african, but I regulary speak with some people of the african diaspora.

I don't care what color she is or who she slept with. What I care about is her politics and her using race to somehow qualify her for a job.

She was also bused, went to a black university, lived in black cities and was raised to be a Civil Rights activist. She has black ancestry on her father's side. She knows her heritage and her personal story better than anyone, so believe her.

That is a great point. Harris will get the personal interview that Mueller wasn't able to get. :D

So many of us in America have relatives who look like Kamala or Obama or whiter than them and they are black. Jussie Smollet would be considered a light-skinned black person or a biracial person who could identify as black.

You voted for a President who makes everyone think he's a self made man who has had nothing but success in life.
