And he is part of the old school republican party. Pence was essential to Trump winning his campaign.
He probably provided cover for Trump with evangelicals. Biden doesn't need any cover; Harris was selected because black women have been the backbone of the Democratic party, and they demanded representation. Seems like a reasonable deal to me.
Biden is part of the establishment so he does need a Pence. Harris was selected because she couldn't win and Biden is a Male and White and that looks bad. Its never really more than that for the leftist leaders. There were several other minorities they could have represented but didn't. Kamala doesn't even represent black women. She may look like them to a small degree but she is not from the same place and does not share their experiences.
She grew up in Oakland and went to an HBCU. She's black. I said Biden didn't need cover. Biden has been an ally of the black community his entire career.
She put a lot of “her people” behind bars for a long time due to petty crimes. Just because her skin is a little dark like theirs, doesn’t make her one of them.
Black areas often vote democrat, which means statistically more black congress persons will be democrat than republican since our congressional districts are divided up geographically. There is 12% non-hispanic blacks in the United States, and congress is represented by black congress people at 10.6%. Pretty close, and easily chalked up to non-racial qualifications. Can you just admit that you have a ton of white guilt inside you so we can move on to how to actually minimize racism, rather than applying racism in an "equal but opposite" way... that solves nothing.
So you agree: The DNC - the leadership of the partywhich tell us race and gender do not matter - chose Harris because she is a colored woman.
Harris bursts through another barrier, becoming the first female, first Black and first South Asian vice president-elect I suppose that, since we can't get the best people to put up with the political process of seeking office, we may as well conquer a perceived racial barrier.
