Kenosha police union gives its account of Jacob Blake shooting

There's at least one still image from the videos that appears to show him WITH the knife before he got in the car. It only (apparently) ended up in the floor board because he was shot numerous times and dropped it there.

He was probably armed while the cops were wrestling with him initially.

 

You may actually be right about what Blake 'had in his hand'... and maybe it wasn't the knife (at that specific moment). Instead, the picture that is being created is that, instead, this perp had a police officer's HEAD in his hands, because he had a cop in a HEADLOCK! So, since 'all' Blake did was fight the cops like a damned mad dog, violently resist arrest, put one officer in a head lock, and then grab a knife (or was just about to), the libs in this forum tell us Blake should not have been shot!

Don't care who he is or was. Stating his record means nothing to me in this specific instance.

He was shot when he could have been restrained by the cops. Simple as that.

So, according to your logic, if you can out-wrestle the cops, you should be able to drive away free, even when there's a warrant out for your arrest because you sexually assaulted a woman.

It matters immensely they DID try to take him down and he pulled a knife so they tried to TASE him TWICE to no effect. The pictures show something in his hand, the only thing they found was the knife. And that doesn't even matter, to any reasonable person his actions would be interpreted as going for weapon...............BAM.

Looks like they dealt with him just fine and prevented additional crimes from being committed involving children.

They're not paid to risk their lives so that criminals may live. They're paid to risk their lives so that innocents may live.

I would expect a police officer to run towards the sound of an active shooter.

I would not expect an officer to piggy back a two time violent felon with a knife in his hand just to avoid using justifiable lethal force.

Stop lying, and stop trying to spread your lie. He has it in his hand in the video. The Daily Mail was nice enough to capture a still image of the knife in his hand while he walked around the vehicle.

No, he walked around the front of the vehicle with the cop walking behind him with his gun drawn. Then the both got around to the drivers side, Jacob opened the door, and then the cop shot him.

I don't care about him. I care about US cops being unable to do their jobs because it ensnares innocents like Elijah McCain, Tamir Rice, Breona Taylor, and the multitude of individuals who should be alive but aren't thanks to shitty cops.

From what we know at this point, this Blake guy was asking for trouble. At least according to police and a cell video. Still, shooting him 7 times was nuts. I feel so bad for the kids in the car.
Trump attributed the incident to cops being overly stressed. Then he compared the shooting to a bad day at the golf course. Sane people are ashamed of this type of leadership.
