Kicked out of class for telling professor there are only two genders

A religious studies major was barred from Christianity class at Indiana University of Pennsylvania for saying during class that there are only two genders.
After showing a 15-minute TED Talk by transgender ex-pastor Paula Stone Williams discussing the “reality” of “mansplaining,” “sexism from men,” and “male privilege,” the professor asked the women in the class to share their thoughts. When no women in the class said anything, Ingle spoke up, challenging the professor on biology and the gender wage gap.

He told the class that the official view of biologists is that there are only two genders.

The feminist professor booted him from class and asked him not to come back. She referred him to the public university’s Academic Integrity Board (AIB). Ingle needs to complete the class to graduate at the end of the semester.
“My professor is violating my First Amendment rights because of the fact that my views and ideology is different from hers,” Ingle told Fox News. “So she took it on herself to silence and embarrass me – bully me – for speaking up in class.”
Ingle doesn’t see this as a transgender, women’s rights, or wage issue, but rather as free speech and an example of the constant misuse of intellectual power at universities.

“It is my firmest belief that every human being has the freedom and right to identify, dress, and represent oneself as they see fit,” Ingle said. “I think this is all an attempt to silence my views personally because they contradict the ones she pushes in class so evidently.”

It's my way or the highway. There are only 2 sexes. You'd think a college professor would know that. I always thought it was women that wanted to "talk about it". She only wants her own point of view echoed back at her.

 

This is what universities devolved into no longer the best minds honing their talents to better society bringing out leaders but conformity. I had a women's studies class in 1991 and challenged the professor and still earned a B because she welcomed men's opinions that seems dead now.

Your born with a penis, or a vagina and rarely intersexed with both an anomaly unless people are born with crab claws or tentacles or something else. Its simple medical fact. And a man putting on a dress and acting female even getting his penis replaced with a vagina won't change their base gender. It's either a penis or a vagina. You can't make them - you must be born with them. Flesh rolled into a tube shape is not a penis and a cavity cut into a body is not a vagina.

This is how progressives "teach" students. They've infiltrated colleges and bully students into seeing things the professor's way or being forced out of the class. Education degrees need to be a little more tough so that any idiot with a quarter of a brain can't just waltz in and get a degree and start teaching. Facebook profiles and Twitter profiles should be taken into serious consideration, and political views should be taken into serious consideration.

When I was coming up through high school in the mid to late 90's, teachers were adults that you could depend on, trust, and look up to as a parental figure. Many teachers today are disgusting. An old friend of my fiance's was dating a 1st grade teacher. Since they graduated almost 10 years ago, (well, he dropped out) he's gotten on the trashy side so she doesn't talk to him much. Long story short, the 1st grade teacher ended up breaking up with him because she thought he was too good for her. Thanks progs, for killing off the nuclear family. Every teacher I had from K to 12 was married. Now hardly any teachers are married and spend a lot of time doing things a teacher shouldn't be doing.

The student is fundamentally wrong, both on the notion that there are only two genders because a "gender" is a social construct and can be - and should be - decided by the individual, and on the notion that the first amendment right is violated by being removed from class because you do not retain an absolute right to disrupt a classroom.

Nobody decides what gender they are, they're the gender of which they were born. If the mentally retarded people want to run around and say they're the opposite sex then that's fine, but logically, and scientifically you and yours couldn't be more wrong.

What really seems to be at issue here is this idea that liberalism/feminism can and should be able to stifle intellectual freedom/freedom of speech, and frankly take the pejorative maternalism approach to life in the classroom. It seems as if this particular tenured person seems entitled to enforce the "because I said so" approach to parenting and translate that into the classroom, and the university seems unable to stop or otherwise influence her poor choices as they impact her students.

 

This sounds like BS. Biologists don't study gender. That would be done in the field of psychology or sociology.

This student was rude and disruptive. Students have contrary points of view all the time and don't get kicked out of class because they express themselves respectfully. Read the actual note describing his transgression. "refusal to stop talking out of turn", "angry outbursts", "disrespectful", etc. All he has to do is write a note to the Prof. to get back in. I am sure that's not going to happen.

I personally don't give two hoots what people decide to identify themselves as but there are only two genders. Period.

Why is everyone acting surprised? Our entire education system from preschool to post grad is 100% taught by, administrated by progressive leftists as a group.

So whatever conservatives or moderates we have no one to blame but ourselves for allowing it. Same with the media.

 

If gender is a social construct and not a choice, than transgenderism is a choice since they all opt to be either m/f.
