Obama elected, Davis elected. Obama ignores the law and violates the constitution, Davis ignores a supreme court decision. Obama free as a bird, Davis in jail. Since homosexual marriage wasn't legal when she was elected, the answer is simple. Put her on paid administrative leave till the the end of her term and appoint a deputy as acting Court Clerk. This way her first amendment and civil rights act rights are honored and so is homosexual marriage.

 

Just to be clear, what court decision has convicted Obama of violating the Constitution or the law as has happened with Davis?

 

This Christian clerk was put in jail by a Bush appointed heterosexual Christian judge. So which Christian is right? Is this a Christian Civil War? Christians put in jail by
bigoted Christians?

Obama hasn't used his Executive Discretion to not enforce laws that he feels are sinful.

Why is everyone so upset at this woman? This is just an act of civil disobedience. The ruling on gay marriage did not establish any rules on what to do when their decision conflicts with the right to free speech or right to freedom of religion. The only way to challenge the ruling is to disobey it. This starts a whole new set of court battles that will eventually get resolved in the courts again, right? So everyone should take a deep breath and calm down.

Kim Davis is not entitled to her position. She had to be elected. She had the option of resigning so that she could exercise her religion without violating the rights of same sex couples. Why didn't she?

 

Well the judge can't take away her job. He can take her freedom, which is a sad thing in a country where we are told we have freedom of religion. Not a good example to set.

The reason she didn't resign is that she is entitled to hold the office to which she WAS elected. She is not required to leave her religious beliefs at the door, nor is she required to resign when it conflicts with her duties. She is allowed to practice her faith in this country, so long as it doesn't harm anyone else. She doesn't have to bow to the demands of bigots who hate people of faith, even if they are judges who where black robes.

 

Let me ask you, would you be OK if the county clerk who was in charge of approving building permits refused to issue a permit for
a Christian Church because he was of a different religion and he felt the lifestyle of Christians was an affront to his beliefs? And then
he refused to let anyone else in his office review the plans?
