The intestine thing about Grosskreutz was that he was actually carrying a handgun in violation of his parole.. But the left don't care. It also, as you say, doesn't negate his also having a potential self defense narrative. I think it will be difficult, however, given that he's the person who off all participants acted as a vigilante. Given his live stream cell video, it sure looks like he thought he should take the law into his own hands. The left however, don't care, they want a hangin.... This is what liberals do.

The kid was an outside agitator, with no business being there in the first place, armed and lusting for trouble.
Local people rioting about deplorable conditions is one thing, but vigilantes of any kind are anathema to civilized societies.
You people can sing and dance around that all you want, and distract about race or left/right bullshit, but you can’t escape the essential problem.
That’s not to say that the right wing judge won’t let him skate, but in a just world, the kid was squarely in the wrong just being there, armed and drunk with paranoid right wing bullshit, looking for trouble.

The size of "your" community doesn't matter. Unless you're in really very specialized circumstances, none of which applied here, you're not really allowed to enforce the law within it unless you're a cop.

I think the local and State trained police officials should handle these types of situations. I also believe that people who destroy and burn property should be confronted, arrested and prosecuted. As far as pedo’s, spousal abusers and burglars are concerned, again, these are police matters. Are you proposing we encourage a bunch of young crybaby punks with military weapons to take to the streets and mete out justice as they see fit? What could possibly go wrong?

I don't want the government to provide anything, but I would like to know that if I'm shot by some gun-toting thug it's unlikely he won't get away with it by pleading that he thought I was a "criminal" and it was "self-defense". I realize that Freedom ONLY works because we accept reasonable limitations on it. "Freedom is not license," is the saying, isn't it?

I guess in your world, kids who dress up in camo suits, grab a loaded military rifle and get their mommy’s to give them a ride to riots. Then they get scared, start crying and start shooting into crowds. If someone were attacking my property I would defend it with weapons I have here. If I heard or saw on TV that there was a violent protest miles away, I would stay home and let the police handle it. I would not send my 17 year old brat out to handle it nor would I give him a ride.

I think adults have every legal right to defend themselves and their/others' property from criminal a******* who refuse to obey the law, and seek to harm others.

You specifically stated in another thread that you believed the gov should take care of certain things like food and shelter. If you're shot by some thug committing a crime that's very sad. If you're shot because you're being a thug and attempting to do what you said you'd do, like pedo joe who claimed he'd murder kyle if he got the chance, then it's perfectly fine.

No one has the freedom to do what pedo joe and the thief and spousal abuser did, that's not legal and will earn a special prize.

I have a right to defend myself and others from immediate physical harm and a right to defend my own property in my own house. Beyond that I don't presume. I like to think I'd rescue someone from a burning building but know I'd probably not.
