Show me VALID statistics that prove this is any kind of a real threat to society. There are none. This is another incremental gun grab. Maybe the focus should be on REAL threats like illegals crossing our borders? I guess if guns could vote Democrat they'd be loved by the left.
Do not attempt to change the discussion. We are not discussing issues such as Alzheimer's, dementia, or countless other examples of recognized and documented mental illness. What is being discussed is a person of adequate mental health simple being unable to properly comprehend confusing paperwork forms on their own, and requiring the assistance of an outside aid. As has been said before, it is no different than claiming that those who require the assistance of H&R Block to file their taxes should not be able to possess firearms, because government forms confuse them. Government forms are not meant to convey clarity, they are intended to make one open to surprise penalties for deemed noncompliance, due to the inability to understand what a Title Three is, and how it applies in a specific circumstance.
Being able to obtain assistance for filling out forms etc. is not what is being suggested, what is being suggested are those elderly whose affairs have been given over to a legal guardian. source
This is your assertion of what you believe to be the facts of the matter. Government has a long track record of playing fast and loose with the rules when it does abide by them, and more often than not simply disregards their own rules whenever they are inconvenient. Why should we believe that your interpretation of the information is correct?
