Trump IS petty, but he's not wrong. He spent political capital to free these ingrates. He is correct that they owe him thanks for not spending the next decade in a communist prison. He is right that it is the least they can do. We all know it. Why shouldn't he say it? Ever thrown out a rhetorical "your welcome" when you didn't receive deserved thanks? Same thing. Trump is... Trump. He speaks plainly, esp on right and wrong.

Obama had some petty moments too, and the left laughed and applauded. Dial back the discontent.

 

There's no evidence Trump had anything to do with it. According to Ball he had people working on the kids' release before Trump showed up. Besides, Trump is so racist he would never do anything good for a black person. He just wants people to kiss his butt all of the time. I'll bet if Ball had done that then Trump would have tweeted that Maxine Waters didn't say "thank you" to him. Trump is a national disgrace.
