Many people in both the U.S. and the UK often refer to the President of the United States as "the leader of the free world". He is not! He is the leader of the United States.
No he is the leader of the Western European Alliance, England is a nothing little island without the US protection.
Sure. With the collapse of the USSR and the Eastern Block, the term "free world" has lost its context.
The title "leader of the free world" is so vague that you can call him that or not as you like. Obviously, there is no official office of "Leader of the Free World". However, given the political power of the US among first world nations, and the international status the US president has among them, the president might be considered as something of an unofficial leader. The matter gets more confused if a given president is not well regarded internationally.
The leader of the free world is knowledge. Knowledge of human behavior and how to use instincts, natural law, to impel people to unify towards actions that create culture with social capacity for change that benefits living things. The 1787 constitution is a collection of such knowledge and the president of the US is supposed to be using it. Congress and the court as well, but it is all infiltrated and unconsciously controlled for the sake of power, serving power, reacting to unconsciously imposed fear.
The United States absolutely leads the UK. They are also most welcome that they are not speaking German. We proudly defend our little brother.
Well, Churchill and Rooseveldt had problems with some foreign heads of State too. Nobody is liked by everyone and just as well.
True. But obama seems to like acting like a dick and they seem to find him annoying. Putin – What this guy’s problem? He reminds me of an old cleaning lady waiting for a bus in Leningrad. All he needs is a scarf over his head. Merkel – I know a secret about Barry. Let’s just say he gets a tingle up his leg when he reads Tales of the Arabian Nights. Hollande – I like Monsieur Jughead, but it is a strange day indeed when the French have to tell the Americans to get tough. Personally, I think Michelle wears les pants in that family. The Iranian Mullahs – In the Webster’s Dictionary under sucker, it says to see Barack Obama. Netanyahu – Does the word schmuck ring a bell? Enrique Pena Nieto of Mexico – Hey, Senor Obama, Mexico is going to give you a big present this year, amigo. President Xi of China – President Obama sends one American ship through the South China Sea as some kind of show of force. Obama might have well as sent the Love Boat. We have hundreds of ships moving through the South China Sea every hour of every day. Justin Trudeau of Au Canada – Hey, there…Gotta love Obama. Hey…He and I are practically chai tea soulmates. You are correct. Your royals used to be the leaders of the oppressed and subjugated world though, so I can understand that you are jelly still we brought down your empire.
i think brits need to see this more. They always view themselves as having a "special relationship" with the US and as in Iraq would go out of their way to offer support. The reality is obama does not view them any different than a random 3rd world country and in fact in hiss tatement telling them they will go back to the end of the line shows he values germany over them. Brits need to see that the special relationship thing is over.
Not even remotely. After defeat in the Americas, the British Empire went on to its peak of power and wealth. Dismantling it was mostly a 20th century phenomenon involving 2 World Wars.Remember, from the British perspective, the American revolution was one small fight in their global competition with other European powers. Also, the English had representation at home rather than being under royal dictatorship. That's what really pissed the Americans off--they wanted to vote too.
Yeah, that little island that stood alone and kept Hitler at bay for more than two years while the U.S. sat on its arse.
Folks, the Axis was defeated by an alliance. Not one of the Allied countries would have been able to defeat the Axis on its own. Thanks to the courage of U.S. soldiers, British soldiers, and soldiers from other allied nations, the West was saved. We owe all of those men, from every nation, a debt of gratitude.
LOL, yeah kept Hitler at bay.... without our material support your little nothing Island would have been starved out of the war in 6 months. And the only thing that really prevented Hitlers invasion was the English Channel.
The American president is the leader of the free world. Except from 2009-2017 In 2017, when Trump is sworn in, we'll have a leader of the free world again. I wonder which country will get to be his lap dog? .
You owe those men who died using that material support a debt of gratitude. Thanks to their courage, you can dishonor their memory.
To be fair England was very brave and held off Hitler in WW2, when no one else over there could. Churchill was a better leader than a warehouse full of Obamas. But, yeah, we saved Europe. The world would either be speaking Russian or Chinese if not for us. And, at some point we will probably have to save it from becoming Islamic. .
