I care about NYC to the same degree that I care about Seymour, Indiana.

actually, when it come to the Bill of Rights, I think NYC should be as heavily armed as Seymour. Almost everybody owns and or carries there.

we should have a nation-wide CCW program with the same standards of background checks and requirements to be able to carry a firearm in public.

in exchange for such a program, we should have universal background checks for all handgun sales.

I believe this is a State problem and that we should insist the chief magistrates of the several States, better ensure the domestic Tranquility and Security of the several States of the Union as Commanders-in-Chief of their State Militias.

indeed, in the name of State sovereignity, let each state deal with this issue as they see fit.

if there is any nation-wide program, let the states agree to it.

    1. It is illegal for the fed gov to register either man and handgun or handgun and man.
    2. licensing according to whose recommendations? Anti nutters? Right, that'll work out well.
    3. run by another corrupt fed bureaucracy who cannot operate in the black?
    bs notion

ah, so you were against the Congressional bill that would have required all states to recognize each other's CCW?

we don't need fed approval, just co-operation between states. All must function with in the parameters of the fed Bill of Rights

I am....are you nuts :) Why would anyone invite Federal regulation? Leave it to each state. Having Federal handle this regulation is no good and leads to further regulation. At State level the citizen can control the situation...this year alone we in Colorado recalled 3 legislatures and won because of strict gun laws enacted. Well....we recalled 2 and won, the 3rd quit before the recall went through.

Please think about it and in time it will make sense.
