The right doesn't have any problem with socialism when bailing out the wealthiest who have even retained their multimillion dollar bonuses while on corporate welfare without even any drug test.

Oh what a hilarious description!! I am a bit of a dork (I spend part of my time on a political forum, not something cool people are falling over themselves to do), but I don't own a Che shirt and I don't go to Starbucks except when my girlfriend wants to. I could of course return the favor and throw out some absurd generalization and continue this battle of the politics of representation, but I will decline.

It was less that the New Deal ended the depression, and more that the reforms it initiated created a level of stability in the system which had not existed before. The frequency and severity of recessions decreased dramatically.

Also, the depression era is badly misunderstood not just on the right, but generally. The conception seems to be FDR oversaw radical increases in spending. He didn't, at least not until WWII. FDR in his first 8 years in office, which includes part of WWII, increased spending by a lower percentage than Reagan (the conservative hero).

So, how can we goad the wealthiest into insisting their public servants simply purchase the finest solutions money can buy, with an official Mint at their disposal?
