I agree. and to my eternal shame, I left the SNP and became a Tory when I voted for Thatcher in her first term of office. Her wee weasel of a sidekick, Lord Forsythe as she made him, sat and had coffee in my home and helped convince me and I thought, mistakenly, that having a woman in power would be good for a change but It didn't take me long to realise the terrible mistake I had made. However Thatcher could only have done the things she did as the westminster parliament allowed her, aand I include the Scots tories in that. Had she not assumed the role of dictator she might have made a reasonable PM but her cabinet were all terrified of her.
