After this impeachment fails, I would wager the odds of a Republican House goes up!

Then put your money where your mouth is and bet.

Personally, I think our democracy is seriously broken, not necessarily because our constitution didn't account for this type of presidency -- on the contrary, they specifically addressed it -- but as is the function of any democracy, it's only as good as its constituency. The very fact that we are so divided and have to rely on the Electoral College and all its built in machinations, all the traditional rules and decorum are out the window.

There is no amount of arguing or debating which will remove the con in this con man we have for a president. You can argue till you're blue in the face, Trump is not a very well person, let alone competent. If you cannot see that, then there is nothing to discuss anymore, is there?

You say all that in defense of Adam Schiff for brains who declared he had undeniable proof of "collusion". These clowns (and the whistleblower) have been working to overturn our election since January 2016. So now since July, this time he thinks he really has something. Coups don't go over well in America. Take your Socialism to Venezuela.

I think that we will retake the House simply because Dem Party politicians openly lied to the voters when they told them that if elected they would conduct the business of government like adults but instead they simply began childish investigations and HOWLED about how EVIL Trump is. People don't like being played for fools. So . . . I do think that we will take back the House.

Obama destroyed the Tea Party through a weaponized IRS. Um . . . it was on the news and everything.

Close your eyes and imagine this. Trump invited foreign interference in our Presidential election again -- the first time in 2016. Trump tried to bribe a foreign leader. Trump completely ignores Congress (Obstruction of Congress). Trump is declared innocent of all charges by the Republican Senate.

Trump is elected to another four years in office without the concerns of reelection which dominated his persona since Jan. 21, 2017 the first time.

He would be the most powerful man on the planet, and he would be unleashed. Already he ignores the American people. Answering only to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and "Fox and Friends," he avoids press conferences and the White House press corps. Now we add Congress to the list. He will simply ignore what our representatives do and say. Already, Trump has hijacked the power of the purse, thanks to a complicit Congress.

Thanks to McConnell and Trump Republicans, the Senate will completely abdicate it's authority to the President. Trump can do whatever he wants.

He will rule with complete impunity for four more years (or more). That is the power the Senate will give him, and why? Because they are scared of Trump's base.

The irony is, I don't think his base will like what will happen. For reasons they cannot define, they have stayed loyal to Trump, but I doubt they want an autocrat. No one wants an autocrat except the autocrat and his chosen minions. .

But they enabled it! The real Pandora's Box. Be careful what you wish for! Does McConnell really want this?

Trump dangled a White House visit for Zelensky if he announced an investigation into Trump's chief rival, Joe Biden.

Trump hosted Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at the White House on May 10, 2017. In addition to Lavrov, Trump shook hands with Russia's ambassador to the U.S., Sergey Kislyak.

Trump met with Russia’s top diplomat, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in the Oval Office on Dec. 10, 2019.

Trump has met with the foreign minister of a hostile government twice at the White House. The hostile government is an aggressor nation, Russia, that is at war with Ukraine and annexed a part of that country, Crimea, in 2014.

Trump has never had a White House meeting with the representatives of our ally, Ukraine.

What does that tell you about Trump?

It is these kinds of posts that really convince me of how overrun this forum is with trolls. This posts demonstrates a level of uncritical thinking that for all intents and purposes would at any other time in history be deemed laughable.

The very fact you cannot even use the word "coup" properly is evident of the of the sort of mindless dribble that the Republican party has turned into. Impeachment is a tool that our founding fathers included in our constitution to prevent the sort of abuse this president engages in on a daily basis. The tone of your posts implies you believe Trump is above the law, therefore you believe he is the equivalent of a king or dictator, and yet you have the audacity to call me a socialist. Now that's a clown move.

The very fact these "Socialist opponents" that you defend began their impeachment actions immediately after the 2016 election, and before it would be possible for President Trump to commit any offense, is evident of a "soft coup" attempt by a political party. The fact the Democrats impeached in a soley partisan fashion, with three dissenting votes from their own party is further evidence of this "soft coup attempt". This has been a clown move from the beginning and Nancy Pelosi resisted for a long time. She herself proclaimed an impeachment needed to be bi-partisan. The domineering Socialist wing of the Party convinced her otherwise and now you are left with "mindless dribble" for her defense. The defense of her actions is left up to the real "trolls" I guess.

I understand as a die hard Trump Kool-aid drinker you have been blinded to see how Trump has provided the very evidence that is being used against him in this impeachment trial. You are right, it did start from the moment he took office, because he refused to place his business interests in a blind trust. That you cannot comprehend how that compromises the presidency is something I've come to expect from Trumpers, so the only thing you are doing is further cementing the reality of that statement.

nothing they can do, Trump could become the next Hitler and as long as Republicans in the Senate support him, he could stay in office

dems tried to work with Trump many times, Trump doesn't know the art of the deal.... Trump think he should be the only winner, doesn't work like that, both sides have to be able to claim a win

Funny, you don't seem the least bit concerned that others, including Obama, were concerned about the business interests of the Bidens in the Ukraine and China.
I think you are sore that a non-establishment politician ran for office and the American people supported him. You must prefer those that have made their millions off of tax payers. Do you think George Washington, one of the richest men in America at the time, put his business dealings in a blind trust?
So, is not putting your business dealings in a blind trust a "high crime or misdemeanor" ANSWER: No....it is a soft coup attempt when he is impeached for that!

Republicans did not even think Trump could win the Republican Primary with help

some states canceled the republican primaries and the party is not requiring any public debates as Trump is an embarrassment at them
