http://news.yahoo.com/house-committee-security-requests-denied-libya-151542076.html WASHINGTON (AP) Leaders of a House committee said Tuesday that U.S. diplomats in Libya made repeated requests for increased security for the consulate in Benghazi and were turned down by officials in Washington. In a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Chairman Darrell Issa and Rep. Jason Chaffetz said their information came from "individuals with direct knowledge of events in Libya." Issa, R-Calif. and Chaffetz, R-Utah said the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans was the latest in a long line of attacks on Western diplomats and officials in Libya in the months before Sept. 11. The lawmakers said they plan a hearing on Oct. 10. They asked Clinton whether the State Department was aware of the previous incidents, and whether the level of security that was provided to the U.S. mission met the security threat, and how the department responded to requests for more security. Referring to the Sept. 11 attacks, the letter said, "It was clearly never, as administration officials once insisted, the result of a popular protest." Admin fail. Again. So are they going to be held accountable for anything? Doubtful. EBT still flowing, everything is wonderful.
No worries, the buck stops at the highest person that is not Obama, I'm guessing Hillary will see what the undercarriage of the bus looks like...
Security? Who needs security? After all, Muslim hostilities will ease the day Obama is inaugurated. Obama's ego is costing us lives. It's time for him to go back to his home country.
This will be all about Jurassic media participation. The Obama fail is clearly writ large. SOS is DOA. There's really no doubt about the incompetence on display. Will it get to the public? I doubt it. The gatekeepers will close ranks around Dear Leader. Jake Tapper will ask the occasional uncomfortable question. Chris Wallace will flog it for 6 minutes on two Sundays and that will be about it. And if it did get the publicity it deserves, will it become something with recognition? When Romney slams the O hole on the foreign policy debate, will America know WTF is being discussed? I doubt it.
Yes, Issa. Issa has a long history of championing the truth over partisanship, right? Of course not. Please note that Issa also did not name his sources yet amazingly ran to the press.
Said it in the other thread; bears repeating: I'm confused, mostly. What of this is actually confirmed, and what is heresay? I'm not eager to take Issa's word on it, especially when he fails to reveal who made those claims - he's not proven to be the most reliablely honest of politicians. From what I can see, the story here is that Issa claimed that officials had said that they were denied more security after requesting it; I'd really like to see if this actually pans out before screaming about how awful the Obama administration is.
