I am thinking of their view right now....should we all just get really fat because maybe its just a conspiracy by the diet industry that obesity causes health problems. LOL

Yes. One is a scientific theory. One is something you read in People magazine. Do you know which is which?

Peer review is the scientific method?

Never heard of that one before. Care to back it up?

They say the Judith Curry personifies the slogan. As for T-shirts, a search hasn't found one yet, but it's a good idea.;)

I would, if such questions would come up and I had the knowledge. In a chemistry classroom, however, such questions rarely come up. I do not usually talk about global warming questions unless asked. I realize there may be conservative students in the classroom who may run to the Dean if they feel they get indoctrinated. It is better to avoid any of these issues. If politics come up, raised by a student, I usually cover both sides from a contrarian point of view.

Back what up? I can explain it... I don't know what you mean by "backing it up"

Peer review is a part of the scientific process that contributes to the self-correcting nature of scientific knowledge.

If you haven't heard that, what have you heard?

Wow. They come right out and admit they are propaganda.
BTW - I hate the terms "Heartland" and "Homeland" - too much like "Fatherland".
A more appropriate name would be "rape the earth for profit" society.
I'll bet they are overjoyed at that pesky regulation - recently lifted - that kept mine waste from being dumped in streams.

So, those being ridiculed for opposing the AGW religion are comparable to Galileo? I agree.

We can prove obesity as a cause of many health problems.

Actually you can't. All you can show is evidence. Science does not deal in proofs.....ever.

I am a Chemist, I believe that excess CO2 is causing at least part of Global Warming, and I am not a Dem.

    Fancy that ! :)

You are talking to the right person about winds. This was included in my FAA training. I see a major error by you in item 1. Winds in South America and North America are from West to East. Africa is East of South America thus can't be the source of dust. Winds blow from Chile east to Argentina to give you the general idea.
While at times winds change directions, as a rule i am correct.
I did research on Carbon Dioxide. It was not measured aloft prior to 1963. Frankly even by 1971 they had measurements past 310 ppm and as high as 324 ppm. What is it right now? I think maybe in the range of 370-75. in 1971 estimates were 1 ppm per year. 2016 - 1071= 45

So from 324 to 375 = 51. Pretty good guess.

I have been looking for the giant fist in the face. An event that shakes Earth. A day here in CA with monsoon rains. We do not see any of that. A heat wave like no other. We do not see that.

The fist we are promised by the Alarmists simply refuses to show up.

I believe taken as an entire globe, heat measurements show warming. That does not as I see it, show man did it.

I have logic on my side. We in CA once had a stunning glacier forming Yosemite Valley. This canyon is stupendous.

But it is formed by more than 1 glacier. There were 3. They showed up then melted. Came back then melted. We are past the 3rd melting.

We have the great lakes also formed by warming. Warming ice like we never encounter in North America. But look at the great lakes. I see those as evidence it does warm and man has nothing to do with warming.

Notice I am answering questions the Alarmists never answer. I get told 97 percent of scientists. Who are they?

Lindzen now retired was in charge of climate science at MIT. MIT is very elite, top scientists.
Curry was in Georgia heading a climate department at Georgia Tech. I expect she did fine work there.
Many scientists in the climate field believe alarmists are simply yelling wolf so often they won't be heard. The more the alarmists scream hell is here, the more people do not believe them. They are their worst enemy by making it politics.

You have asked a question I keep asking. Where is this Carbon Dioxide? I have seen graphs but it is not in a clear pattern. It matters to climate if the gas is close to Earth or 30,000 feet high. At the high elevations there is less gas than at lower levels. But keep in mind we are talking of one grain of salt in a full salt shaker. We are not talking of a half full salt shaker. Trying to draw a picture.

Professor Lindzen and many other scientists allege there is simply too little Carbon dioxide to matter. He says what is blamed on man is extremely negligible. Like saying if you are on a teeter totter and a flea leaps on, he makes you flip off. That is silly but 400 ppm is a extremely tiny amount. very hard to measure unless you have the most accurate tools to use.
Humans make a lot of use of Carbon Dioxide. We consume a lot of it in beverages. I never hear alarmists screaming to stop using carbonated beverages. They don't even call for the end of CO2 fire extinguishers. I get told those are tiny amounts. Well, nobody told me the major amount unless they mutter green house gasses. Nobody shows the scientific way to figure that out. We are told to accept it due to authority. But not scientists. We are told to accept political authority. That makes it a hard sell to people like me.

(scuse me while i drink some carbonated water)

    5 of course is true
    6. Frankly I do not believe the overwhelming amount of climate scientists accept this theory. Some do, but you would be surprised at the number who reject it.
    7. Frankly, the oil companies, the coal companies can't overcome science. i enjoy good science. Fluff is not my style.

Some years back Shell Oil jumped on the bandwagon of believers and finally had to admit failure and get out of energy efficient companies they got into. They could not make money.

It is like the Tesla auto. How many Teslas have you ever seen in person? I saw two and I am where the factory is. I could drive to the factory in several minutes. I don't have a clue who buys the cars. They are sold though.

Can you quantify what is natural vs human created?

For instance, is it all done by humans or 2 percent? Now that you are here, at what altitude do you find the carbon dioxide layer is to effect global climate?

It is a very heavy gas to to get a lot of altitude takes a heck of a lot of mixing.

No. The doctor does not make his decision based on just his own research. He looks for the consensus of the medical community

I consider physics science and we put in a lot of time on proofs. Why do you think science is not certain?
Do you think the physics formulas are mere guesses?

AGWers should be called "Evolution Deniers." The climate of the earth is constantly changing and evolving, a scientific fact they deny.

They are not proofs unless they are mathematical formulas. You can not prove with science ANY scientific principle....not even gravity
