Isn't that a rather inflammatory title that does not do much to support what is actually in the article?

So... let me get this straight... if the people of Cuba rise up against the government... Newt Gingrich would bomb the people to suppress them?

Right. Yes, I acknowledge that the United States bombs countries to suppress popular uprisings against brutal dictators... but I wasn't aware that our elites liked to make a habit of pointing that out.

No, you've got it all backwards.

He said ""If there was a genuine, legitimate uprising, we would, of course, be on the side of the people,".

Gee, there's a whole lot of wiggle room in that statement. I'm willing to bet that he wouldn't declare an actual popular uprising to be "genuine" or "legitimate". The only sort of uprising he would consider to be legitimate would be a pro-capitalist movement against the regime. The US government has never supported an actual popular movement (usually because they're vaguely socialist movements), and often supports governments and rival groups that oppose popular movements (because it's in the interest of American businesses).

What I want to know is what exactly tiny, broke and totally non-threatening (!) Cuba is doing that scares the likes of Gingrich so much, and causes him to be so intolerant.
If wanted to gain even a shred of credibility he'd be looking at the absurd embargo and considering ways of saving America from appearing even more ridiculous than it already does over the matter.
That man is clueless goon. And some Americans actually support his bid for presidency? Really? Un(*)(*)(*)(*)ingbelievable.

Their audiences are as dense as the actors and function on Pavlovian reflexes.

Gingrich doesn't give two sh*ts about Cuba.

I dare say it's likely, outside the Cuban/American community in South Florida, not too many other Americans do either. He (and others), are simply pandering for votes.

When Obama makes his way down there, he will be talking the same empty crap, despite the fact he has done nothing to reflect differently during his presidency.

Great, attack a Latin America country for no reason. Seems like a good way to make friends to me. Several (probably including Mexico) could build nukes if they tryed.

But hey,, isn't that the American way? Any country whose people have a skin colour with a darker shade of pale are fair game.

The US needs a common enemy.

If they didn't have one, they might try to invent one and the problem they don't want to face is that two party states are their own worst enemy.
