We can't get poll watchers now for 1 day and you're suggesting we put them on for 12x5 for 2 months?
Most election office close polling places claiming to be underfunded so we're going to expand personnel, security, and other expenses to cover 2 months?

This is better than mail in voting, how?

No complaints here, I've been fingerprinted 3x over my career for work + TSA precheck so, I'm not bothered by it.

Same reason I had zero issues drug testing welfare recipients, being as I was drug tested to make minimum wage as a grocery bagger, therefore I had no sympathy for someone's rights while on the Gov't teat.

We clock in and out at work with our fingerprints. I'm a veteran, so the gov has had my prints since '75.

Stop making sense, next you'll be talking about national a voter ID or some other rational reasonable thing.

Our local early voting IIRC is in 3 locations around the county for 10 days give or take maybe 3 or 4 employees, and no city or county officials have mentioned that this is a huge burden in either cost or manpower.

I'm thinking that if there is a will theres a way.

Plus it cuts down on the big Tuesday logjam.

    Win win.

No reason to be drama queens about it, we had issues and voted out the old elections supervisor and the new guy fixed it.

I don't really listen to Trump at the time. the fact that he didn't even realize that mail-in voting has existed since the civil war memes that any opinion he has on it is questionable. he still publicly claims that it's only existed for a few years since 2016, and then it was designed by the Democrats to sabotage him in 2020.

Then feast your eyes on THIS MORNING'S Associated Press story, and still tell me it's nothing to be concerned about!

WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal authorities say one of the gravest threats to the November election is a well-timed ransomware attack that could paralyze voting operations. The threat isn’t just from foreign governments, but any fortune-seeking criminal.

Ransomware attacks targeting state and local governments have been on the rise, with cyber criminals seeking quick money by seizing data and holding it hostage until they get paid. The fear is that such attacks could affect voting systems directly or even indirectly, by infecting broader government networks that include electoral databases.

The only logical thing to do at this point is put the election on hold until people feel safe about going and voting.

What the hell grocery store did you work at? First time I've ever heard of anyone getting drug tested to bag groceries.

Publix Grocery stores, they were drug testing way back to the 80's and I believe they still do.
I worked there from age 14 to age 20, missed out on some prime pot smoking opportunities in my teens :(

We randomly tested one person in each department monthly, so basically 7 employees out of about 100 were tested each month.

My wife has been tested randomly at her job since 1989, someone from corporate shows up every few weeks and just grabs a few random names off the body board and walks them to the bathroom.

That's crazy. 30+ years working for five different organizations and never been drug tested.

    Sure Congress can do it.

I don't think the Dems in the House really care about the safety of voters, or about the security of our elections

What does that have to do with voting online? Federal authorities are concerned about hacker attacks NOW. We are not voting online NOW.

Voting online does not add or remove any "concern" from hacking based on social engineering such as ransomware. Actually, I suspect that voting online might remove some potential points of failure. Because it can be fed directly to the database, and because nobody should have complete access to the database until the elections are over, or at set moments in time. But I'm not sure how that works now, so I can't say for sure that this is not already implemented.

And BTW, being concerned is a good thing. It means it will be addressed. Ransomware (mentioned in your article) is one of the easiest security threats to prevent. Any moderately knowledgeable IT security person will know what preventive measures to implement. But if you're not "concerned" about it you're not going to implement those measures.

What% of votes are handled by this method and how many more would it take to go 100% of voters.

    There's your answer.
