Right now we are setting a standard of being the most expensive, least effective health care program of any civilized country in the world. Our two parties, especially the GOP are filled with whores who are paid off by the scumbag lobbyists from the insurance and pharmaceutical lobbies.

Precisely, very well said. The problem is bipartisan and doesnt begin or end in insurance. Its fascism.

As a registered republican, I wanted badly to vote for Bernie but our corrupt system would not let me. Huge fan I am. :clapping:

But Dennis Kucinich has a better idea. Since we're going to overhaul the way we do this, everything must be on the table. Bernie would agree, I'm sure.

Many smart citizens would have a lot to say about how it should be designed, nurses and doctors. The smart thing to do is immediately start discussions.

    Is there a leader anywhere?

Just wishing, but I'd rather my tax dollars be spent on healthcare for my fellow man, than on immoral wars of aggression.

Like I said, the subsidies are qualified by income. So those who make even slightly more than the designated amount can't access it, even though they're still by every definition "poor". And thus their insurance BTW is higher when they get it. It very basically encourages a negative reality where the 'best' option is to remain poor, which depresses the market and thus your own standard of living.

The ACA was very poorly crafted.

Except that it is not government sponsored fraud. It is private enterprise sponsored price descrimination which is perfectly legal and a part of the capatilist system.

Single payer is not socialism. Gad, some Americans are so stupid. Medicare is single payer-private delivery.

What does mandates have to do with anything. Insurance companies have been paying way less than individuals for the same procedures for at least thirty years. It ain't the government that is the problem it is capitalism in an area where there is no transparency and no actual competition. The rest of the developed world has recognized and solved the problem. Time for America to grow up and start caring for it's citizens.

Actually it is a government that creates artificial deficit of medical services and all kind of unnecessary regulations that jack up prices.
It does not matter if it is private or not private, government serves private corporations not the other way around.

Mandating health insurance means your giving clinics the ability to overcharge and set the prices for the industry. Clinics know that insurance covers alot of the cost and therefore take advantage. If we all paid for what we needed then prices would be far lower, nobody would bother going in for anything less than a missing limb. Insurance is NOT supposed to pay for everything. Its supposed to help support you when you need it. Its a complete mess.

NO they don't, but cost shifting has driven prices up exponentially for over two decades.

The system was broken long before insurance was mandated by the ACA. And if you want to see just how silly your approach is try going without insurance and then finding that you have no bargening power and will pay four times as much for the same proceedure as an insurance company.

And if you really think most people enjoy going to the doctor and go for no good reason other than the copay is small then you really are living in your own universe.

This would be wonderful, but it isn't going to happen. The original ACA was all about Single Payer, but it was DOA, because of the powerful insurance lobby. No way Republicans will try to butt heads with this lobby. They've been on the TAKE far too long.

It has to happen... otherwise its just a band-aid on a broken leg. Trump apparently is afraid of the insurance lobbies.

You would need a Ralph Nader equivalent to make this happen. I will admit that Bernie Sanders has advocated for it. But I'm not so sure he could take on Big Insurance.

Single-payer healthcare works in every other industrialized nation. And with government oversight, those nations' healthcare costs are far lower.

But hey. You probably want Big Pharma to be able to raise the price of drugs by 10,000% overnight, because 'Murica.

That is exactly what we need, reduce the price and provide health care for everyone.

If U.S. has no competition in Health Care industry, where is competition supposed to come from?
Currently all the power belongs to Medical Cartel (several private organizations that sets the rules and regulations in health care).

Does it mean that Americans genuinly stupid and always want overpriced products?
Single payer is not a socialized medicine, it is public service, the same as police, education and environment protection.

Who do you think regulates how many doctors allowed to practice medicine in U.S.?
It is a congress of United States, that allocate funds for licensing doctors, not anyone else.

Single payer comes in several models. Its NOT socialized medicine. I don't know how you go about educating Americans. Europeans healthcare is LESS expensive. For instance an MRI in the US is $1080... In France the same MRI is $280.

So why do you pontificate falsehoods?
