It almost feels like they wanted Americans not to have children, and then would later replace them.

If you take the time to actually read the report, it specifies that the cost of housing is a driving factor. Also mentioned is homelessness, which gets back to the cost of housing as well as the latent effects of funds already approved for the homeless crisis being delayed by Republicans.

Too many people, the cost of living too high, it only speaks to the success of the State. People are willing to put up with a lot in order to avoid living somewhere else. They say they want out but they don't leave. And if they do, many just go to Oregon or Washington.

I know I've rarely if ever met anyone who ever said, oh golly gee, I want to live in Alabama, or any other State. :D The only exceptions are Oregon and Washington.

You realize that the high cost of living is result of high taxation to fund liberal policies correct?

Maybe because it's a Sanctuary state, and they'd likely be deported if they lived somewhere else.

For other people they have to stay because that's where their job in the tech industry is.

It's a nice place to live if you have millions of dollars and can comfortably afford to live there. (Probably why the tech jobs are there in the first place, because the founders of these companies want to live in a scenic area)

Here is the thing about our costly houses.

If you could buy any product, and in 5 years got your money returned, and got a return on it of more than 15 percent, would it be a good deal? Or you could spend your cash on low priced property in say TX and later you might get lucky to break even in the same 5 years?

Everyone should know that is your own spin and partisan BS.

Again, just more spin and BS as anyone who looks at your link and clicks on the "Edelman Trust" link will see.

The poll says 53% think CA has a cost of living that is too high. The rest of ^^^ that is partisan BS and spin, for which we already know we can count on you.

Because of the high cost of living. There is no mention in the Edelman Trust poll report of "Democrat" or "immigrants" or "liberalism". Speaking of trust, everyone should be clear about you and how much we can trust you to tell us the impartial, unspun truth.

Okay so they had their fun in the sun and I envy them that, especially when I lived in miserable, damp and rainy New York. What I would worry about if I lived in California would be what's going on beneath my feet. Those fires were next to volcanoes and coming from down under. It seems the earth is heating up.

As for Silicon Valley wanting out, it seems they're afraid of a revolution and they might be the first victims.

Talking about houses. The first home I grew up in that my father bought for $7,000 in Brooklyn, New York during the depression last sold for $1,200,000.

as always with real estate it's "location, location, location" that determines value...climate, scenery, schools and jobs...it's the same anywhere regardless of politics...the more desirable the area the more expensive it becomes, pick the right spot early and retire a multi millionaire...

smart cali residents can take their long home investment from their now super valuable properties and find a quieter spot to enjoy their new found riches gained from a home sale....had I moved further west to the coast 20yrs ago I would've increased my initial home investment from $70,000 to $5-7 million, hindsight is always annoying...

A key factor you will never at any point hear from any Democrat is why we have such high prices in Ca. First look at the high priced cities. What do they feature?

The high priced cities / high cost cities, feature top ranked universities. This is far more important than one often realizes. Then they are ports. They handle extensive ocean trading. Third is airports. They have a high number of airports. The SF Bay area has 3 major international airports. But those are not our only airports.

Look at the freeways in the huge cities. Massive aren't they? And I did not forget climate. We have some cold times. But we do not suffer the massive storms of the east. We do not live in snow months of the year. Can we still get to snow? Bet your life we can easily get to fine snow country. Can we go hiking in volcano territory? Definitely. Do we have massive granite canyons? Well if you like canyons with walls of over 3000 feet straight up, sure we have canyons. Do we have rivers? Guess if you think not.

OK, cost of housing. Do you mind living in the hilly areas ahead of the Sierra nevada range? Check prices on highway 49 for a shock. Prices there are much lower than in San Francisco. You can actually own many acres of land off highway 49 and enjoy almost snow free living too. Summers will get hot, but you must have heard of air conditioning. Want to live at Lake Tahoe? The low prices there will amaze many of you.

there are lot's of amazing places but without jobs you got nothing....I've seen huge homes being sold for a $1 but then there's the problem of zero jobs and a dying community that goes with it...

I sold my son a home for $195,000 too in 1998 that he kept for 19 years and sold for $930,000. This home managed to acquire for him a ranch in Idaho costing him $140,000 which he paid cash for, and a home also in Idaho costing him $190,000 that he also paid cash for. And he also paid his former wife a hell of a lot of cash for her share. He moved to Idaho with over $200,000 cash in the bank as well. He also bought three new cars from the home in my city. For cash.

So what! I didn't speak English until I went to school, and after that they couldn't shut me up. You have to look at the bright side of it. Your grandchildren will now have the chance to speak more than one language fluently.

You do know that the US doesn't have an official language, and that German lost out on being our official language by three votes. Greek was also being considered because of its richness, but Webster said that enough Greek words were incorporated into the English language so that it wasn't needed.

I would love to see what would happen if a lawyer decided to try his case in another language.:roflol:

By the time their children grow up, it will be a new culture in that state, because those children will constitute a majority.

A lot of people are ignorant about the demographics.

Are the schools in English? If they are, then the culture will remain the same.

No, culture is about more than just language.

I do think even the local language will change to some extent. It will still be English but may have "Spanglish" words and the accent will be different. Remember, huge numbers of this generation will have grown up in households where English was not the primary language.

My own niece, my sisters daughter, married a man from mexico. He was able to become a citizen of the USA thanks to Reagan. But he bought two homes using me as his agent. I sold the home in Oakland for him and the last home he had foreclosed during the wonderful economy of Obama. I know the price I sold that home to him for along with his loans. He put down $173,000 cash plus his closing costs to buy this excellent tri level home of about 2200 sq ft in a great part of the city. When I sold the home to him, the cost to him was $320,000. Seller at the time had it up for sale at $338,000. (I just reviewed his records)

Sadly he did not get any shovel ready jobs from Obama so he lost the home. Lost his job is why.

Anyway, back to the illegals. i asked him what to do about the illegals. He being a us citizen told me to kick them back out. Surprised eh? Did you think what i was thinking he would say? I figured he would come up with a lot of excuses to keep them here. But he lost his job.

He was not a shovel user. He was the foreman on a lot of their jobs. He ran crews. He never figured out where a shovel ready job was under Obama.

He did not mind at all telling me who the illegals were. He knew who they were. I think some were part of his extended family. But kick them out. Boot them back to Mexico. Grease the skids.

That is correct. In my analysis, I deserve a spanking by the most beautiful woman you can locate for me. My analysis skipped jobs. Jobs congregate around the supply of humans. We have so much high tech here our supply are highly educated humans. Without them, we would not have Silicon Valley.

Even many Latinos are wanting to get out of California.

Around my local area, the most spoken language other than english is probably Chinese. Chinese seem not to mind high cost homes.
