Brainstorming at its essence is presenting all ideas no matter how absurd they may be considered. It’s in the word itself. A storm of ideas is presented not a controlled dialogue.

If someone brainstorms the notion that the reason we can't see ships after they go over the horizon is because they fell off the earth, I am going to justifiably believe that they are a ****ing moron.

Actually that would be a valid statement in a brainstorming session. Every idea is supposed to be presented no matter how ludicrous.

Hmm.. I haven't forgotten. It would seem though that your preference is to shut everything down though. No? That seems entirely based on your own fear, and not the science that we now have. I believe someone else pointed this out to you. Here's the thing. I understand that there is a virus out there. I am unconvinced that so far science or medical folks have been able to adequately discuss how the virus is being transmitted, or what the actual lethality of it is. Locally, we are being asked to wear a mask outside of the home, etc. And while that might induce some measure of "comfort" in the heard, its prophylactic efficacy is very much in doubt. But, you'd simply say, fear rules, and our nation must destroy itself in the process of what? To save how many lives that might be taken in the future should we not? And in the interim, when folks start starving to death because the food supply couldn't be sustained, then what? How many millions of folks dying from that are you willing to tolerate because you feared getting a virus?

And let us be clear here. The massive spike we see now is related directly to the availability of testing. And the number of "cases" doesn't translate, at least here, into medical consumption. Our hospitals have a lot of capacity right now, and even though the tests are identifying folks with exposure, those exposures or illnesses aren't translating into a spike in medical care around here.

The increase in testing does not adequately explain the spike in cases because the positivity rate (the percentage of tests returning as positive) is also increasing. Also, the rise in hospitalization - which is absolutely happening at multiple points, like Miami, Houston, San Antonio, and Tulsa, across the country - lags behind the increase in confirmed cases.

The rest of your post included a lot of utter bullshit strawman and slippery slope type of idiocy so I don't care to respond.

Trump; “If we stopped testing right now, we’d have very few cases if any”

    Of course!

Before you a open a door, make sure you turn the door knob.

    Of course!

However, if we stopped testing right now, what are the consequences Trump keeps ignoring?

You assert this, but you have no evidence of your assertion being true, and frankly the data doesn't support you here. So why try to invent something here? I don't ever expect you to respond to the actual meat of a post. I understand your limits.

No, you don't or else you wouldn't resort to fabricating my position or trying to failed attempt at a slippery slope argument. If you want to know my position on things like locking down, then ask.

As for "no evidence," which point are you referencing? The increase in positivity rate? This is a chart based on the Daily US Totals reported at Covidtracking.com. Yesterday, that rate was 7.697% which was the highest since May 12th.

As for increased hospitalizations in places like Miami, Houston, San Antonio, and Tulsa?

Coronavirus hospitalizations surging in Miami-Dade, with younger patients too

Houston ICU capacity could soon be exceeded as COVID-19 hospitalizations worsen, TMC projects

Amid a massive spike in coronavirus cases and hospitalizations, could San Antonio shut down again?

Oklahoma at ‘critical point’ local leaders say as coronavirus cases, hospitalizations climb

California is still locking down and also experiencing a spike. Part of it is increased testing padding the numbers and part of it is young people ignoring social distancing

You absolutely voted for a ****ing moron if you voted for donald trump. Have you ever heard Trump talk about a single topic (sans teleprompter) and walked away thinking, "That guy has studied this subject and has a very subtle and nuanced appreciation for the details of that subject?" I have asked that many times and I have yet to see a single person give me an example.

And you do not want to trot out honesty as your second metric if you want to continue to defend Trump. I don't care how smooth they sound while they lie, I care about whether and how often they lie.

You voted for a ****ing moron who lies more than any previous politician.

I am going to highlight the portion of this list that is absolutely no longer true.

I bet that's why they included the "recently" when they mentioned those achievements. So many of those might have been true several months ago, but they definitely are not anymore.

The Left and the Swamp have been busy destroying the economy.. they had the Covid to use to that end, as they like to say "don't let a crisis go to waste"

Trump recommended that every State shutdown and he personally shut down several federal sources of economic growth.

And his administration recommended that those States remained shutdown until they saw met fairly minimal metric and then those States went ahead and opened anyways. Now we are faced with a dramatic spike in the most populous States.

I’ll give you a real world brainstorming session as an example of how they work.
Myself, my brother and two friends were moving a huge new wood stove into one of their homes when a wheel on the dolly broke going over the threshold. One guy said well we’re ****ed now. My brother who’s a scientist said let’s brainstorm this, throw out anything and everything that comes into your mind no matter how ludicrous. One guy laughingly said magic carpet. Then another guy said we could make that throw rug a magic carpet. Let’s get it under the stove then pull the carpet along over the wood floor. Worked like a champ.
    Brainstorming 101. You’re welcome.

Sounds like you don’t know democrat governors are implementing their own guidelines that far exceed the CDC recommendation. Washington State is a good example of this.

I'm sorry...you are trying to analogize moving a stove into a home with...a treatment of a virus that has killed 120,000+ americans?

Trump is a ****ing moron and "brainstorming" the idea that injecting disinfectants into the body as a way to treat covid-19 is further demonstrative proof of him being a ****ing moron. Even if you don't agree and think that type of brainstorming is a good idea (you are wrong), then you don't say that dumb **** in front of millions of terrified people from the white house podium. You keep that dumb and dangerous **** behind closed doors and let the real experts talk about the best theories in public.
