And everyone agrees that the Russians have tried to interfere in US elections for a century. The Chinese have interfered, and likely many others. But everyone also knows that this has happened long before Donald Trump was ever elected President.

If Rosenstein, Comey, Mueller, et al, were genuinely interested in Russian interference wouldn't they investigate all parties to see how deep the problem went? Does it make sense to you that only one party is being investigated?
There always has to be a crime before there is an investigation. Otherwise it's rightly called a fishing expedition or a Witch Hunt, and both terms would apply here. The bar should always be high, and it's important for any democracy that it is.

And btw, there need not be proof of a crime, or an investigation of a crime, but some evidence of a crime. That's lacking here. And please explain this "Russian interference".

So the investigation is happening and you said of it "First there has to evidence of a crime being committed and there was none." The logical understanding of that is that you believe that since "there was no evidence" that the investigation must be illegal, but you deny it. So exactly what did you mean by "First there has to evidence of a crime being committed and there was none"?

Looks like the fault was with you rather than me.

Please respond to the words which were posted before applying your 'logic' to them. I'll also share my beliefs with you but you needn't interpret them.

There has to be evidence of a crime before there is an investigation. It's a simple enough concept and one that has been around for centuries. Democracies do hot hold investigations of opposing political parties in search of a crime. That is more related to dictatorships and their show trials.
