Many blacks say they want respect.

Because they DON'T object when their professional race hustler leaders lump them in with ALL other Blacks, period, as a community. Ask them why they don't object to being lumped in with the murderous thug Michael Brown.

 

White people have created this problem. After slavery blacks have never had equality in our society. It is easy to spit out a generalized "get off your ass....blah, blah, blah..." but this simply perpetuates the clueless standpoint that black men are lazy, unwilling to work ect. The simple fact is Arcane drug laws are at the heart of the black dilemma. Blacks are much more likely to be stopped, frisked, pulled over ect. than whites. In this process as we saw in Ferguson, Mo, the district actually was using black citizens as revenue, pulling over just about any black person for little or no reason only to search and find....something? The small amount of anything they found immediately was used to detain, arrest, harass, or extort funds from an already depressed community. This scenario repeats itself all over the US. At the very heart is our outdated non violent drug laws which turn hardworking, contributors to our communities into felons with no shot of ever getting a decent job. Once a person has a felony, the chances of getting any decent employment is history. Not only does this record stay with the person, but any credit history will also reflect the charges/conviction. (Felony = credit risk) In my community the local law enforcement mirrors the religious community in it's zero tolerance approach to drugs. Prosecutors enhance basic charges with as many add ons as possible to extoll maximum punishment. To what end? They stump on "keeping our communities safe" but in reality they are creating an entire class of felons with no chance of obtaining a job. Where else do these people turn when they cannot get employment and the community has already shunned them? The streets to deal drugs, pimp, whatever it takes to survive. To blame blacks is simply lazy and refusing to accept responsibility for the sad state of our country. Change the laws, allow felons back into the workplace. Give them some chance to participate...otherwise the next step is violent revolution. What other choices do they have?

 

So you think it was black leaders who grouped all black people together and that black people are responsible for your negative views of them. Got it.

 

Why are White Americans so often on a soapbox about the ills of Blacks, when they have scores of problems to deal with themselves?

Great, you have contributed to society (thank you) and there were people of all races standing with you as your brothers. I'm one of many productive members of society who aren't requiring respect from others because of their labor.

My father says he has ton of respect for his friends that are blacks, since they pay their bills on time don't loot or do stuff that makes him loose that respect they had garnered over the years.
