I really do not believe that's going to work.

The main reason is that your objective is not why oil companies are in business.

Beyond that, remember the problem during the Trump administration? Pumping more oil would have caused even more companies to go bankrupt.

~ Biden inappropriately used the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to artificially lower gasoline prices — leaving the USA in a dangerous position should a national emergency occur.

    Epic indeed ...

    Like Biden did just did?
You think US oil companies want lower prices?

Down to what price per barrel? There's nothing stopping US oil companies increasing production now

Dude, if you had an antique you bought for $100 and someone told you that he can sell it to someone else for $200 and you will be able to buy it back for $150, would you do it?

We certainly have to keep pumping to meet demand, but certainly not at a rate that would overfill storage tanks.

Too much supply, and a very weak demand precipitated 2020’s Oil Market Crash.

When it comes to increasing production, the oil industry is no different than other industries.

If 10 construction workers are needed to build a house in 30 days, how many workers are needed to build 2 houses in 30 days?

In addition, if said 10 workers were to be laid off for a period of 6 months, how many would go back to work for same company when demand picks up?

He saw the price war and dumping they were planning so then they could control the markets again. Of course the price was below $3 a gallon then too.

Oh, I think I agree with your point. Why would any oil company increase oil production if they can make the same profit with the current production. The oil industry is effectively a monopoly.

You were talking about my SIG and your not finding cogent thoughts in sigs. My sig is a direct Biden quote do you find it coherent?

My debate is not about deliberately misquoting and what is called a "lie of ommission".

Yes after HIS actions and pledges to shutdown our domestic production.

What are you posting? That Biden's ploy to sell crude from the oil reserves to investors was a money making scheme?

I don't see the problem with ending subsidies. As for no more drilling on federal lands: there are already plenty of federal leases going unused. And federal land doesn't represent a significant portion of oil production in the first place. The President has no power to simply end domestic production. Oil companies could increase production any time they want to. They have a financial incentive to not do so. This is an objective fact that you and your side is incapable of addressing.

The US could . . . but then righties would flood forums with comments about how Biden shouldn't have done that . . . as we've seen on this thread

    No.

Biden would be given credit for finally listening to the experts and doing the right thing for the American people. But don’t worry, there’s no danger of that, because he won’t. He’s satisfied with forcing a higher cost of living for all of us.

Except Biden DID flood the market with more oil to reduce prices . . . and you guys said he shouldn't have done that. Would it have been too much trouble to just read the OP? But don't worry, there's no danger of the fight wing being willing to be intellectual honest on this topic.

Love her or hate her, she would be the PERFECT VP choice for the Mango in 2024... I hope he grabs her early, because the bidding is going to go sky high....

Also, gas is going the complete wrong way in January..... Joe will clearly be using his magic powers to blame that on the GOP House...

    Lunacy never sleeps...

You are uniformed. Biden did not flood the market. He injected a small amount which provided a modest short term reduction in prices at the pump. That’s over now as prices are rising daily. But don’t worry, there’s no danger of the left wing willing to being intellectually honest on this issue.

We are still millions of gallons a month short of 2019 levels and demand is increasing both in the US and the rest of the world. Projections are $5.00 a gallon gasoline by late spring if we remain at current production levels. Diesel will be higher.

Since republicans took the house, gas prices have increased 30 cents in my area.
