OH COME ON-a man who killed his own mother to get guns and then planned mass murder is clearly someone who was going to obey a Gun free zone sign!!

Voluntary training bad. Mandatory training good.

Again, the training BS. There are several of us posting that actually conduct weapons training...Come on, impress us with your vast expertise and what you'd include in a mandatory training program. That is a challenge...since you have me on ignore because you can't stand toe to toe, someone else can issue the challenge...

how is allowing teachers to pack the big government idiocy you claim it is. GUN FREE ZONES are big government nonsense. where do you come up with the silliness that's going to cost us money? and somehow I doubt you really are concerned about government spending

It's fascinating to me how people immediately jump to the ludicrous extreme; it's a mark that you know your position if flawed.

Properly armed, properly trained people are inevitably the correct solution. They act as deterrent and critically important First Responders.

NO...... you don't need a gun at your house.... no judgement from us.
BUT, you have no business telling someone else how they choose to protect their families.

Should it be concluded that the child of the member Vegas Giants is currently engaged in illegal activity while on school grounds? Statistically those who are engaged in criminal activity are more likely to be shot and killed than anyone else in the united states.

"If", "some chance", etc. There is also some chance that there could have been more deaths.

And you've repeated the same information. More security personnel is more government. Armed and trained security personnel is more government. Republicans always claim to be anti-government, but when push comes to shove, they espouse governmental growth much more than their counterparts.

Get rid of all the guns, and eventually, after a generation or two, you'll have gun death statistics similar to Great Britain, Japan and Poland. With no "Big Government" growth.

A claim you cannot substantiate with evidence.

And precisely how do you propose such an impossible notion be made workable? Ridding the united states of every last firearm in existence is going to be like curing AIDS; an impossibility in absolute terms.

"Get rid of all the guns". If this is your plan, you're doomed to failure. We'd likely also need to have the same demographics and culture; curious how you'd arrange that.

Just promise me that you would stack up with SWAT when it was time to take the doors of the people who refused to turn in their guns.

I agree that this will not happen in my lifetime, however, I do believe that it will eventually happen. America was heading there in '80s, with Reagan's soft stance on firearms. The NRA went on a Blitzkrieg after that, with all their misinformation.

When it happens, a firm directive needs to be issued by the Federal Government, that on xx/xx/xxxx, ownership of an illegal firearm will be a felony, and subject to the harshest of penalties. There is no "rounding up" of weapons. Drop-off sites are provided. Consideration could also be made for an automatic death penalty for a crime, perpetrated with an illegal firearm.

I believe you haven't spent much time in red states.

The federal government doesn't have the power to confiscate all that propesty, nor enough law enforcement will to go along. We can't even put our most heinous criminals to death anymore; are you suggesting that the liberals who would put these laws in place would suddenly embrace the death penalty?

Demonstrate that it is indeed misinformation. Simply because you claim such is insufficient.

Beyond the logistical impossibilities of actually enforcing such mandates, your suggestion for drop-off sites would be quite foolish. What would prevent these locations from being broken into, and the firearms stored within stolen?

A crime perpetreated with an illegal firearm? Since you did not specify which sort of crime, that would mean that simply possessing a firearm would become a death penalty offense. Under such a standard, there would quite literally be no reason for the public to refrain from shooting and killing every government agent and law enforcement officer that is encountered on sight. They are already eligible for death simply for having the firearm in their possession, so they would have nothing left to lose from murdering as many individuals as possible.

Thus will, of course, require an amendment to the constitution.
This can be blocked by just 7% of the population.
    Thus, it will not happen.
