McAuliffe says parents shouldn’t tell schools what to teach, handing Youngkin a campaign ad

Doesn't that say it all. How could ANY parent ever vote for a Democrat again. The Democrat position is on record Democrats say you should not have a say in your child's education, only the STATE can make those decisions.

Time for vouchers and a free market educational system

"Former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe handed his Republican gubernatorial opponent Glenn Youngkin a campaign ad on a silver platter during a Tuesday debate by stating that he would not allow parents to tell schools what to teach their children.

McAuliffe, a Democrat who is seeking a second, nonconsecutive term as Virginia governor in November’s off-year election, proudly acknowledged Tuesday that he vetoed legislation while governor that would have alerted parents when there was sexually explicit content in instructional materials.

“I’m not going to let parents come into schools and actually take books out and make their own decision,” McAuliffe said. “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.”"

Governor, Attorney General, and 2 US Senators seats LONG AGO, the only thing that saves us from utter destruction is that Northern Virginia and the large liberal cities, which effectively control statewide elections, DON'T CONTROL district races. McAuliffe WILL be governor AGAIN, the Democrats WILL control the top state posts AGAIN....AND MAY GOD ALMIGHTY HAVE MERCY ON US!

 

OH, lest I forget, I envision the Democrats at some point moving to amend Virginia's constitution, removing the "one and done" term limit on the Governorship allowing for unlimited consecutive terms....THAT'LL be the cherry atop their dungheap!

Schools used to be trusted to teach the three R’s, plus some patriotism and discipline. Now the schools have morphed indoctrination of fringe ideas, and challenging children to rebel against their parents authority.

A story I have related here previously back around 1972 Jerry Rubin came to a neighboring city here in the South to speak at the local college. It was an anti-war post Chicago thing. Me and some students at the college I was attending drove over to the event. Now understand that in the South we were "freaks", didn't subscribe to the whole "hippie" west coast thing. We were the Southern Rock family matters and we all work hard and take care of ourselves and stand up for American even with it's warts. Rubin arrives with his entourage and gets up and starts speaking about getting out of Vietnam. The majority opinion here was that the United States is not going in to win so let's get out so not much argument with him there on the end results. THEN he started on the domestic issues and started on early education and how we need to get the children away from the parents and the parental influence so WE could indoctrinated them into the new society and fill their heads with socialist ideas and government as parent.

Well we literally ran him off the stage and back to his caravan and off the campus. You don't come to the South preaching AGAINST the family!

Nope. The people threatening violence are being divisive and hateful. Filing a lawsuit against such barbarians is both appropriate and anything but hateful or divisive. It is the civilized thing to do.

 

I don't get it. Most of the righties (and lefties) here at PF have voiced their opinions about spoiled and entitled youth. But they want mommy going into the school and telling teachers what they should and should not teach? I'm not a teacher and I have no idea how to go about doing it. So I'm going to leave it to the 'professionals'. I know, I know - the rabid left educational machine is trying to brainwash and corrupt our children.

Teaching children isn't hard. Home schoolers do it all the time.

 

I can't speak for others, but I would suggest a "scorched earth" policy rather than let the left take over. They aim to destroy everything I love, anyway. Why should I leave anything for them?
