    Hitler carried out socialist measures for 6 years before the war. Duh, the war didnt start in 33. Hitler opposed Communism and international socialism, but supported a socialist agenda which would help the German people. Hence National Sicialism. National. Hitlers pre war policies were copied by that socialist FDR.

    I can see why socialists today argue against this point. They want no connection with the NSDAP. But we all need to understand that ideologies don't fit into nice little boxes. It was a unique case where the multicultural global socialist idea was applied strictly to one nation and with distain for other races and countries. Hitler said in many times that it was one realm, one house, one people, with no class distinction whatsoever. All German people together, with the bourgeoisie paying due respect to the workers.

    It was an amalgamation of ideas.

    Bullshit, FDR was far from being a Socialist, the Roosevelts didn't make a fortune off of socialism. FDR's biggest problem was we really didn't have a good understanding of macroeconomics. The FED was also new and not tested in recessions, so it didn't function well in such a major economic downturn. In you study FDR, you can tell he and they (being his government) didn't know what they were doing to fight the Great Depression and tried various things to see what would work.

    Every country needs a sausage break. Congrats on getting your 6 year Jethro diploma.

    As far as a carrier goes, I don't see it happening anytime in the near future, because I doubt it will be wanted long enough to build it.

    Not much worth defending in Germany. You could defend your chocolate but the Belgians do it better anyway. You could defend your watches but the Swiss do it better.

    Join the German army to fight for vacuous postmodern existentialist philosophy... I spose.

    I don't particularly want to be the third generation in my family's recent history who has had to invade Germany and stop them from their old tricks.

    It seems like you can't go 5 minutes without controlling the internal affairs of your neighbours. To such an extent that you're willing to give on net tens of billions every year just to keep them dependent on the Reich.

    Yanis Varoufakis is absolutely on the money with regard to the German strategy in Europe. In any war they are likely to enter into they will be on the wrong side.

    As preparation for the world war, Hitler already announced in his autobiography "MeinKampf".

    Almost every German family had this book at home. But hardly anyone read it.

    The Autobahn? Not sure if that is a very good example of socialism, since infrastructure is a part of any government responsibility not to mention that in Hitlers case even the autobahn had a military purpose.
