There are no depths to which liberals will not sink in order to mitigate their bitterness for being on the losing side. We've still got it here over Brexit.

    1. obama didn't say it. Michelle did.
    2. that was 8 yrs ago in a victory speech
    3. I haven't been in any discussions about what protesters are saying, but yes, I would if they are comparing her to something sub human or just denigrating in general.
    4. I think trump has pissed off a great many americans, it is why there are protests. If one is pissed about a victory speech 8 yrs ago, how many do you think are pissed for just a few months ago? Or a few days ago? To many people Trump was all about divisiveness.
    5. I hear many of the idiot posters didn't vote. Don't be protesting if you didn't bother to support your position in the election.

No call or defending that racist Comment.
But I doubt there is a single American who can plead ignorance
when it comes to the virtual daily litany of name-calling when it came
to the newly elected President { George Bush }.and it only got
worse by 2004 and Kerry was the Nominee and DNC bagman Terry McAiliffe
did his thing.Drumming up faux facts about Bush being AWOL.
Insisting on it.Then Pelosi 2 years later as she attempted to take over the
House as Speaker." Drain the Swamp " was her pledge.Plus daily attacks as
Bush being Incompetent, and his Adm. given to abject Cronyism.
It's the Obama Adm. that stacked the deck with Radicals and even
Obama's Mother-in-Law moved into the White House.
One could make the case ... What goes around comes around.
Obama just a couple weeks ago out campaigning for Hillary and bringing up
the KKK as if those are part of Trump's team.
    In his coded doublespeak.

Of course! Only and only Whites who make any disparaging comment about another person outside their race can be racist.

Obviously this is and was intended as a Flame Thread.
No good at all can come of it.There is no debate concerning this.
It is wrong in every instance to attack a First Lady.Unless like Hillary,
they engage in Travelgate whilst First Lady.Have their staff rummage and
vandalize stuff while leaving office. Then theft of WH furniture and bric-a-brac.

I agree. "Ape in heels" is crossing the line. But you're sure right about her sobby, emotional rantings about Trump's words, yet she welcomed JZ to sing at the WH, his 'songs' peppered w/the N & F words, women being 'ho's', killing cops and ....well, we all know JZ's type of 'singing' and she welcomed it. Hypocrisy at it's finest........

You either stand up for what you believe in or you do not. You don't pick and choose, no exceptions.......

    1. Obama condoned it. After all the good things America has done I listed in the post.
    2. Gettysburg address 1863, I have a dream 1963, (If anyone had a reason to say disparaging things about the USA MLK Jr. did.(words mean something, no matter the date. Someone that moves into the peoples house should know better than to (*)(*)(*)(*) off half the country day one.
    3. Check facebook or social media quotes. Even one post on this forum called her a prostitute.
4.That's rich, almost anything Obama's have done over the past 8 yrs have divided the country, mainly end around Congress ie. EO's, my way or the highway. Trump isn't even in office, hasn't signed one bill. They are ignorant crybabies that have never been told no. Obama pissed many off, the right didn't riot for days.
    5. I agree, many were paid (ads on craigslist in my town) and some were professional anarchist. I absolutely support the right to protest, not violently though which many on the left either support or remain silent.

What is the problem with people? Michelle Obama gets called names and it's the end of the world, racism and slavery have found their way back to America. Yet if it's "rape Melania", well that's ok, they will even stand beside the sign protesting along with such a statement/suggesting! Picking and choosing themselves right from wrong. In the process making good evil, and evil good.

What is going on between Americans is all brought upon us by the divisive powers that be, and the media. The media use to keep the government in check, now the media is apart of the government "Operation Mockingbird"!
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Mockingbird

If the people can't see through these lies and deceptions, and begin to come together, America will fall very fast, and very violent!

I find that there are a great many things you can say about the First Lady. If you called Michelle a horse it wouldn't be racist, or if you said she was ugly or even if you found her classless as others have pointed out. Not racist IMO. Hurtful and inaccurate, but not racist.

But there are some things that, like it or not, are a part of our American history and can't be undone. It has to do with our cultures scars. Calling her an ape, harkens back to when people used un-science (I think others touched on it, but essentially I mean here that it doesn't actually conform with sound scientific practice) to justify dehumanizing those of African decent.

If there were/ are specific racial superiority /inferiority motivated artifacts from our history than mindfully bringing them up and applying them in order to establish racial superiority or inferiority is racist.

Whether or not these people were mindfully and maliciously applying the "ape" monicker to TFL, its impossible to know for certain, there is smoke obviously but I don't find value in labeling someone a racist.
But what she said was unquestionably racially insensitive and obviously not becoming of her station.

I tho't she was ok up until the day she stood up and shouted 'for the 1st time in my adult life I'm proud of my country!'

She was raised in a country where she had all the opportunities anyone could want to be successful and live the good life, but the USA wasn't good enuf for her.....until her hubby was the nominee for POTUS. She sure showed her true colors w/that statement....

Since I consider, as everyone should, rape to be denigrating. I already addressed it.
NO ONE should ever be denigrated.

Well having your spouse elected to the highest office in the world is one of the most proud moments in anyone's life.
A spouse of a leader is just that. Prone to saying silly stuff. See the plagarizing speech of trumps wife.
Social media is a lot like this forum, people are super tuff people behind a keyboard.
Obama had to go a lot on his own, R congress top job was to make Obama a failure. And the EOs were still not tops of other prez's.
His words have had a profound effect, Trump's that is. His campaign strategy was all about riling up people, would you not agree?

Many of the protests are just herd mentality. Get enough people in a group riled up and some will do stupid stuff.
Heck, world series, super bowl winners, etc, have been known to start fires, tip cars, etc. Not making an excuse, but it does seem to be human nature in large crowded situations.
It's why police have riot gear.

    - - - Updated - - -

I know it's over your head, but it wasn't just calling Michelle and ape, it's been done to denigrate an entire race of people in the past. Do you understand the difference? Dumb question, I know better.

Everyone who thinks their race is superior to whites. There has to be 100s or 1000s across the globe. Maybe much of the chinese think that?

black racists, Asian racists, every race has racists. Only a complete idiot would say otherwise. In which case, there'd be no need to cite Al Sharpton hating the white devil back in the 80's.

So you assume that Trump is responsible for how this woman thinks? And what does that say about how you think?

I don't know anybody who is not offended by such a stupid remark, on either side. I'm pretty sure Trump is equally offended.

You know, if any genetic trait of any race is seen to be superior---that is racism.

So, if one has dark skin pigmentation like many Blacks and people from India, they have vastly superior UV protection. Anyone who believes this is a racist.

Also, Blacks have dominated virtually every running and jumping event in international competition for 40 years. Anyone who even imagines there might be a genetic influence for this is also a racist.

    Racists are everywhere!
