what are they doing there if trust is so low that it compromises operations to such an extent as this?

Sounds like the US is hiding a lot more than what they are saying. Either that or they have some real bad intell they use for air-strikes. Often friendly fire between Ground forces and air support are confused due to the myrid communication changes that take place before the final oeration order. Perhaps, the commander of the gunship attack did not get any final change messages.

But as you know, it is very hard for the military to admit friendly fire. It happens in all military actions even training.

when you launch friendly fire that kills your "allies", and said allies and you don't exchange vital informationto prevent tragedies liek this, it seems you must be in the wrong place.

24 Pakistani soldiers do not equate to ' al Qaeda ' . Still, relations between this US of AIPAC administration and Pakistan will never recover as a result of this deliberate slaughter and the free world can be thankful for that.

Oh, you thought you were in the ' free world ' ?

I dont know, once Pakistan began firing upon us, I think they lose "friendly" status. Its returning fire upon those who are firing upon you.

Could be, but I don't think those Pakistans were in the wrong place. The US military has done friendly fire in the past and with the thousands of air strike missions there is going to be mistakes. And they go through the same process of spinning it to see what works, and spinning it again to do the final cover up. That's the sad truth behind what the media does not want you to know, and how they spin stories.

How could you be so wrong! Pakistan has been playing a double game with the United States since the original mini-invasion of Afghanistan (special forces and air power support of the Northern Alliance) which ousted the Taliban, a government Pakistan put into power. Since then, Pakistan has taken America's money and tossed them the odd Al-Qaeda cell and allowed them their supply line to Afghanistan, while simultaneously harboring Taliban camps and operations and senior figures, and apparently by harboring Osama bin Laden as well.

The United States held out the hand of forgiveness after the Osama raid, informing Pakistan of not one but four individuals they wished to apprehend on the ground in Pakistan. Not surprisingly, all four were long gone when the CIA/Special Forces personnel arrived with Pakistan agents in tow. Pakistan is not the ally of the United States: Pakistan is the ally of Pakistan. Their word is worth its weight in gold (=nothing) and thus the whole American venture in Afghanistan has been worthless since it could not succeed without Pakistan being a REAL ally.

Now the USA is grovelling in order to try and re-open its supply lines, when the brave Pakistani martyr soldiers in question were firing on U.S. forces pursuing Taliban fighters fleeing back into Pakistan. Either the soldiers made a tragic error or they were supporting, either on their own recognizance or as the result of orders, the Taliban. As far as I'm concerned, they dug their own grave.

F(*)(*)k Pakistan. F(*)(*)k Afghanistan. Get our people out lock, stock and barrel and halt all aid. They're a threat to themselves, not to the US. Let them and India do whatever they want to each other. It's their turf.

That is the major concensus as you are preaching to the majority. When you can stop the defence contratcors from making trillions on the military and taxpayer, than you can end all this. Untill then the isreal backed broadcast media will continue to dumb down the USA into more wars.
