Not at all, in fact I have zero animus towards gays. However, there is free speech.

So a known gay woman who has a talk show rescinded an invitation to a guest who preached about homosexuality being a sin? Did she say horrible things about her publicly? Threaten harm to her? I am failing to see what the big deal is here?

Ah yes, 'free speech'; always the predictable excuse of the bigot. How about freedom from stupidity by these ignoramuses?

It's really rather hard to believe a person who says the one denying a person who calls the sexual preference of others an abomination, is the one who is intolerant. Those who cast judgement on others, who believe they are not worthy human beings, who calls upon their children to bully all the suspect in schools who COULD be gay are the intolerant ones. Why condone that type of behavior in a secular nation where all have rights under our laws?

You don't like gays, don't let them in your church. But if you are going to take jabs at them and tell them they are not worthy, then be prepared in a secular not to be welcomed in MANY places. Many Red states found that out when employers withdrew from their states by not lifting discrimination charges against the LGBT community.

The 'big deal' is yet another ignorant religious bigot getting exposed. Long may it continue.

Sure. You can certainly say what you want to. But the backlash of that is that some people don't want to hear it and that is THEIR right to free speech.

Ironically, it's the cons who are doing that in this thread, and it's the cons who have been doing this since Trump won. I think it's some sort of in-your-face comedy or a what's-good-for-the-goose-is-good-for-the-gander mentality.

In actuality, after 8 years of rightfully complaining about that sort of behavior, it just makes them look really pathetic and hypocritical, but since when have people ever cared about that, you know?

Therefore only your opinion is meaningful. Typical. BTW no one attacks free speech like the liberal left.

Wrong, there is no right NOT to hear free speech. Otherwise there is no free speech.

Sure there is. The producers of shows who own the show have EVERY right to tell someone they can't come on their show. The idea that the religious radical fundamentlist right DEMANDS to be heard was settled long ago....you don't have the right to demand we listen.

Well that woman has the right to think that way, but people calling Ellen intolerant and such for simply not wanting her on her show anymore is what I don't get.

How so, especially after liberals always attempt to change the rules when it suits them?

It's not an attack against free speech...it's an attack against bigotry and hatred.

That's not the point here. Ultimately the networks decide on casting in order to make ratings. I could care less about that. Maybe Ellen wasn't up to potential fireworks.

And maybe her crowd isn't the bigots and haters. That's more it.

Too bad you are exactly what you accuse them of being.

You can't wield the word bigot as a weapon when your own intolerance is just as strong if not stronger than their own.

That's just your perception. What about other opinions? This is the reason why so many libs are correctly called snowflakes.

That is simply not true. You support discrimination against Christians who believe that homosexuality is a sin as the Bible teaches.

I'm still waiting for a single show where one person was banned for being gay. All you did was list shows you think might have done it which is not the same thing.

No, that's pretty much standard knowledge. YOu put on your program the people that the viewers like. Otherwise, you get all types of phone calls and boycotts. Ellen's crowd isn't the bigtoed and hatefilled radical religious fundamentalists.

But you know this just how, because after all few people have demonstrated more hate and bigotry than the liberal left?

In YOUR NIV, maybe. But not in the Christian bibles not translated by the republican religion. And why would anyone ban gays? Gays are a big part of the entertainment industry. You want an apple when the argument is oranges. Face it, less than 10% of our population is Born Again evangelists. With those low numbers, you have to buy your own channels to get on tv and some of a following.

    - - - Updated - - -

No, the radical republican religious right bombed abortion clinics, beat up gays, have murdered blacks in churches. I'd say the hatred and bigotry prize is on the radical republican religious right.

And you know this just how? Or is your perception just based upon liberal talking points that frankly are getting more ridiculous by the day. Ellen wouldn't lose a single viewer by having this gospel singer on her show, and in fact she would probably benefit. Like I said, maybe she wasn't up to it.

What are you talking about? No one is talking about banning gays. You are arguing something no one has made.

You are talking about Islam. Get your facts straight.

Your hatred and bigtory against Christianity is very telling.

Which, on the face of it, sounds pretty hypocritical, doesn't it? Why would you want to emulate that quality? Unless it's more fun to change the rules than it is humiliating to be called out as a hypocrite.

The following is all I need to know:

    http://www.pfaw.org/media-center/publications/anti-gay-politics-and-religious-right

There are no 'gods', there is no 'sin'; only bigotry excused by 'it says so in this 2000 year-old book therefore it must be true, and I must follow its teachings to the letter, despite all common-sense indications to the contrary'. Is that about right?
