Generally, to the uneducated at least, socialism is a catch all word for government programs.

Far better giving our farmers that have to compete against foreign farmers money. They feed us. Also far better giving American farmers money than criminal invadeers.

Would you prefer paying $10 dollars for a head of lettuce? Time was when America could feed the world and farmers prospered. When you shop do you check to see where your produce comes from? Are you aware that foreign growers are not held to the same standards as American farmers, that not even the safety of that food or the consumer are a concern? Agrocorps in America have decimated the small family farms so it's a double whammy on the independent farmers that is the situation as it stands. Want quality food, then get behind the American farmer, buy American, buy local. We subsidize everything else so why not American growers?

It's not socialism if it's helping people who vote for Trump just like it hasn't been socialism that has funded our schools, libraries, fire departments, police departments, road construction, and all the other things funded by taxpayer dollars that benefit everyone. It's only socialism when the left does it.

If we agree that collective effort is effective, then we agree that borrowing from any ideology that advances society is O.K.

What is your point exactly? You think when a democrat gets elected and starts shutting down coal plants you think there won't be some bailout money for all of those new unemployed people? Someone always gets screwed when there are new policies. This is the system.
