He would never be allowed to advance past the primary, by either party. One thing we have learned from the Trump experience, no one who is not an embedded, long time career member of the political elite can ever again be allowed to have the presidency. Such a person is too dangerous to the comfortable status quo.

i was just looking at 2 similar crimes in my own city this morning.

in 2017 a white guy named neilson rizzuto blood alcohol .232 drove his pickup truck unto a mass of spectators at the krewe of endymion parade. 32 injured, some seriously.

In January, Criminal District Court Judge Benedict Willard sentenced Rizzuto to five years in prison but suspended one year and gave him credit for the 11 months in jail he had already served. He also ordered Rizzuto to serve one year of probation upon his release.

rizzuto is now walking the earth, a free man.

Neilson Rizzuto, Endymion crash driver who injured 32, released from prison | | nola.com

in 2019 a black guy named tashonty toney blood alcohol content .225 drove into a formation of bicycle riders near the route of the krewe of endymion parade. he killed 2 and injured another 7 ......

White imposed the maximum legal sentence upon Toney, which included consecutive 30-year prison terms for each vehicular homicide count, and six consecutive 5-year sentences for vehicular negligent injuring count. All told, the sentence amounted to more than 90 years, with 60 to be served without the possibility of parole.

the appeals court did overturn that sentence, so he will be resentenced (by the same judge.)

Appeals court vacates 91-year sentence for Tashonty Toney, Endymion day drunk driver who killed 2 cyclists in 2019 (fox8live.com)

there are a lot of other factors (previous record and such) that should have been considered in those sentence, and in that of the knucklehead wo just drove into the holiday parade yesterday.

here is another recent crime where the precious white 16 year old was released without charges before a little political pressure forced an arrest .....

Waller County, Texas, officials announced felony charges on Monday against a 16-year-old pickup driver accused of crashing into a group of cyclists while trying to blow exhaust on them. The collision sent four bicyclists to the hospital.

The Waller County district attorney said his office had filed six charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against the driver, one for each biker hit by the truck, the culmination of a weeks-long investigation into the incident. The driver voluntary surrendered and will remain in custody until a juvenile court decision.

On Sept. 25, a group of cyclists were training for a triathlon when the driver started taunting them, the bikers said, revving his engine to spew exhaust on them in what’s known as “rolling coal.” When the driver sped up to reach another group of bikers, he hit six of the eight people riding along, causing a massive crash and sending four cyclists to the hospital, three with serious injuries.

the 13/50 is a significant one..

i don't see the normalized data i'm looking for but i just read the key findings. The paper has it? if you tell it does, i will read it.

For instance, key findings state whites are more inclined to hire private attorneys. Okay, then is this about race or wealth? So if a black man gets a harsher sentence because he didn't hire a private attorney but a white man, convicted of same offense, gets a lighter sentence because he hired a private attorney, the data is not normalized. Show me outcomes of blacks and whites in exact same situation. You can't tell me this comparison is about race... Again, OJ Simpson, the evidence against him was overwhelming, he got off as he had the money. If race was the only factor, he would've been convicted... If a poor black would've been in same situation and not in a position to hire these attorney's, would've been convicted, 99.999%% likely. So this is about wealth.

You need normalize the data, by wealth, type of offense, hire/not hire private attourney, repeat offenses etc... show me it's just about race. The article lays it out as such? I bet not.... the mainn findings i read led me to believe it didn't do what i'm asking for.

I simply do not believe that cops, judges and laws just target blacks due to the color of their skin. Most of it is due to circumstances, repeat offenders, money, attorneys, type of crime etc..... again, glancing through key findings of paper, i can see it is taking some freedoms in how it is making comparisons.

btw, the fact that this open society foundation source you provide is funded by George Soros gives me great pause...

Yes it has, and for good reason, because its the truth. There is a mixture among the dem leaders in your party, the leftist media et al that believe in and actually support an ideology backed up with programs, edicts, executive orders, verbal assaults and polices that are in line with socialism, Marxism, collectivism and a soft totalitarianism--which all in their own way makes our government control it's people on a grand scale. There is absolutely nothing coming from the dem party of leaders that shows any type of support and or belief in our constitution, our military, our defense of nation, our basic individual freedoms, capitalism, our Christian values, our independent lives, our history as a nation, support of our flag, our 1st and 2nd Amendment rights, the right to not vaccinate, and most of all the right for every fetus to have a right to live as one of GOD's precious children. The idea that libs find it necessary to race bait every issue or every single action is another reason why you libs are on my list of un-anti Americans. Government mandates and racism are the current agenda/narrative of lefties across America today. Its not just our Founders who are turning in their graves at the utter leftist destruction of our nation, but its the current death and mayhem being played out in our city streets today because of the left's failure(s) to uphold the law and to support our police. Perhaps you could come up with even one action, one policy, or one belief that in any way disputes my definition of lefties.

we need stats, normalized, for the entire country. Citing one example here and there, as you guys do with people like George Floyd ( a statistical anomaly), is not good enough. I can for sure find a few examples of whites being more harshly convicted than blacks for same crime... so what. We need stats for all crimes and sentencing, normalized.

But, since you brought this up. Keep in mind that judges and jury's take into account different things, including the defendants' behaviors. I've seen videos of judges being harsh on defendants purely due to defendant laughing on court... This matters, every circumstance is different.

    So, in above example.

couple of things. The black man, Toney.

Toney apologized to victims in court the next day. But his remorseful words appeared undercut when a state prosecutor played a recorded jailhouse call in which the defendant and one of his sisters laughed about some of the previous day’s victim-impact testimony. That drew audible gasps in the courtroom, as did Toney’s sister when she was heard on the recording using a racial slur in reference to the parents of the dead woman Walls.

Right here, we have a problem. Judges, juries take this into account, there is a reason the prosecutor introduced this in court. Sentencing is influenced by these things. What type of person would behave in this manner after killing people? You have to show remorse and respect....

Did the white man behave in same fashion? so, different circumstances...

Yeah, any and all facts showing/proving that today's democrat leftists are indeed socialists, Marxists and Communists may very well be considered baseless soundbites coming from someone who either doesn't live in America, or is a so-called American who has no problem living that un-anti American lifestyle that is currently being presented by the lib leaders of our nation. This might be a good time for you to try and prove me wrong by coming up with one or more actions or polices by democrats/leftists that show they are these patriotic American loving people whose very policies and or actions are actually helping America and Americans prosper.

nothing.... that can mean different things based on who presents it. I need more objective stats. Again, just reading that it compared whites hiring private attorneys vs blacks not doing so, tells me article is not being as objective as i would like.

Again, if you can show me a table that would compare stats across the country as such, would be interesting to observe. I suspect that if you collapse some of the categories, may appear to be biased in favor of whites but as you break it into categories, may not look bad.

    # years sentencing

understood but i would like to see it before i conclude, our criminal justice system is racist...

unfortunately, both sides will take #'s out of context.

Floyd is an anomaly, yet many claim it happens all the time. In past few years, around 20 or so unarmed blacks have been killed by cops, a year. This is nothing given there are millions of arrests a year and according to FBI stats, thousands of assaults against police officers a year. Look it up. Not to mention, twice as many whites are killed by cops than blacks are killed by cops...

Point is, we can all pick and choose how to present the data so to be objective we need to come up with specific buckets, look at all stats, normalize then see where facts point to... seldom done in this day and age.

Some can point to George Floyd and tell me 'see, proof of system racism'

but i can look at the stats, like # of arrest a year, # of assaults against officers, # of whites, blacks killed and under what specific circumstances and have enough to back up claim that there is 'zero evidence of system racism'. I can even point to the fact that given the # of police-citizen confrontations, # of of assaults against officers, 20 or so unarmed blacks killed a year is pretty darn low...

It certainly has something to do with the criminal justice system. The criminal justice system has to deal with it.

I guess we should just tell children to stop being born into black families, since that's where we put the blame.

You can't say that black culture needs to change, and it's not our fault without implicitly saying that "black people are just more likely to commit crimes." It may be apathetic racism, but it's no less racist than social Darwinism.

The truth is that it didn't get this way naturally. It got this way because of white supremacy. Pretending it got this way naturally is every bit as racist as saying black people are naturally criminals.

I would agree that Floyd’s death was an anomaly, which is why it garnered so much attention, but poor treatment of minorities and impoverished peoples by our justice system is not. I believe stats show that the justice system disproportionately harms minorities. If you’re truly interested in the topic I would advise looking into it for yourself. Don’t let my lake of willingness to meet your data collection standards shape your opinion.

i haven/t found the data, would require me to look at data from different sources and put a table together. So i asked you, since you claim you know for a fact criminal justice system is biased against blacks, to show me the data. You don't have it...

my data collection standards are the right standards, you have to hold everything constant and only have race be the difference. You cannot tell me criminal justice system is biased against blacks because they have less money, that's wealth, not race.

it's fair to ask for normalized stats. If anyone compares repeat offenders vs 1st time offenders or poor vs rich or people hiring a private attorney vs not hiring on, this is not holding things constant.

again, OJ Simpson is pretty much evidence on my side. The man had blood of victims in his vehicle, had no alibi, gloves found in his property, the evidence was overwhelming. He got off, why? power, influence, money and his ability to hire an all star team. What would've been the chances of a poor black man to get out of this hole? .0000000000000000000000000000001% maybe?? or even a poor white person... no chance. You have to hold these things constant in the stats you present, then i will join you in your views if systemic racism is evident.

btw, George Soros, try not to provide anything funded by this guy... you will have a hard time getting anyone who's not leftists to even look at anything coming from Soros' funded sources.

    smart man, Thomas Sowell..

people like Denzel, Thomas Sowell, Morgan Freeman would be the right leaders for black community... Al Sharpton and Colin Kapernick, help themselves, at the expense of blacks. It's devilish...

I’ve seen sufficient data to back the claim. I again, lack the interest in doing the leg work to organize to your liking. I provided you with a comprehensive paper on the topic.

he points out issues to look into but he doesn't seek to unite... notice how we even calls MLK an 'American' hero, not a 'black' hero. You think Colin K. and Al would hold this view? Colin hates the flag...

Kaepernick's SPAC Deal Implodes Just In Time For Christmas
    [IMG]
"This deal has fallen apart just like his football career."

The company serves underserved borrowers, but, the deal required "sitting for interviews, including on "Good Morning America", and with ABC's George Stephanopoulos. Because of this, the deal is officially "dead"."

So, serving the "underserved community" is all well good, but, not at the price of sitting for an interview with "Good Morning America", and ABC's George Stephanopoulos!"

The price of service TOO high!

I bet Morgan Freeman would have done it to serve the underserved community. This Kaepernick is more screwed up than a Alec Baldwin movie set.

based on Biden and Kamala approval ratings and how most americans think country is headed in wrong direction, maybe more and more are coming warming up to possibility of electing trump again.

competence and being politically incorrect trumps being nice, woke but incompetent.
