He claimed it would cost a "bazilion" dollars and America would pay for it. But, He always talks like that and I would bet he never even read the executive summary on the Paris Accord.

True. I'm sure he was briefed and exaggerated. That's what politicians do. lol.... Lately I've been watching (streaming) a TV series, House of Cards. Still on the second season, it's awesome. Worth a watch.

Agree, they are reacting as if pulling out means that trump is banning the use of renewable and putting a freeze on any/all technology advancement.

    It's not the case.

From what I gather it just means that other countries will have to pay for their own plants. That's just fine with me.

Sorry I just picked one random leftist ignorant rant. There's ah about 50 some odd posts like the above that are not educated on this subject and current, ongoing and future endeavors by the UNITED STATES in regards to both renewable fuel sources and Energy.

So I went and researched it. There's dozens of sources showing the exact opposite of what the left is claiming in this thread. We are not being left behind.. We are leading.

It is flat out impressive just how many hundreds if not thousands of solar projects the US has producing large amounts of energy... With of course needed supply management and installing companies, maintenance everything... and we aren't slowing down. It's kind of mind boggling just Solar.

This site below has some fun interactive maps that will blow your mind on the sheer number of projects the US has going and in production. Just.. Solar..

    http://www.seia.org/research-resources/national-solar-database

SEIA just does solar so let's kinda look at all of it. Hydro electric, Biomass, Wind, Thermal, Solar and I found this link here.. Pretty impressive stuff we the United States have huge renewable projects ongoing and more finishing up at I honestly think for our size a break neck pace

I'm happy for Morocco honestly but to see page after page of leftist willful ignorance to just make up shallow lies or not educate themselves intentionally because all they really want to do is bash a POTUS. /shrug. None of what is being said is true. None of it makes sense. That's why moderates didn't vote for Hillary. We don't like crazy talk.

    Read this excerpt :

Since June, numerous large-scale wind and solar plants have already been completed. More are under construction. So renewable energy generation will rise even higher by year’s end. And while its percentage will be tempered by summer peak demand, renewable energy will still likely exceed 16 percent of total U.S. electric generation and 9 percent from non-hydro generation sources during 2016. Next year looks to be even better. With thousands of megawatts of solar and wind under construction, 2017 could see non-hydro renewable energy rise to well over 10 percent of U.S. electric generation.
In 2010, non-hydro renewable energy was just 4.2 percent of U.S. electric generation. It will at least triple by 2020. That’s a big accomplishment in only a decade for the world’s largest economy.

    http://www.renewableenergyworld.com...ric-generation-in-the-first-half-of-2016.html

The links above I found in 5 minutes. The US is not being left behind in any aspect of renewables. From fuels to energy. We are the world's leader and we are speeding up.

Thanks for posting OP. I learned some impressive stuff about my countries commitment today on renewables. Through my own research of course but debunking myths is how I learn here. It's staggeringly impressive our growth projections in this area.

Every day I try to become slightly less ignorant. Don't always succeed

Yep, all supported by previous administrations. Thanks Obama, what is Trump's renewable legacy going to be?
More filthy coal polluting the atmosphere and fewer incentives for clean energy to replace it.

I think the point was the US was going to pay a disproportionate share of the tab while "developing" countries get a pass of up to 20 years, with no guarantee they were going to do anything or pay either. I agree with Trump, that's a BAD deal for America. He says he's open to coming up with a different arrangement.

How is that a bad deal? The US already burned a tremendous amount of fossil fuels in the past. Just not fare to refuse to take that into account.

They also set tougher emissions standards for themselves. Get the facts on India and China. Trump didn't bother.

Even a small solar panel is a money saver in most of the South.. You just route it thru a 40 gallon quick recovery during periods when is is gloomy and overcast.

You always seem to have this special talent of not understanding what you read, then go on this solo mission to confirm to everyone that you definitely had no idea what you read. If you read my sentence and what message I was trying to relay, it has nothing to do with yours. Lol!

See that is where political bias shows. Just not true. This current POTUS showing a little sympathy towards the coal Industry isn't going to change things. There's a reason too. Money. Companies are making money doing all aspects of this field. And where there is money? You'll see growth. We can't even shift to renewables any faster.

The United States has led on this for more than 30 years? This transcends any one POTUS this one or the previous one. Renewables are an unstoppable force really that politicians, pundits, experts, forum warriors etc like to use as ammunition to intimidate or impress the uneducated or to just hear themselves talk and use as a political platform.

I don't find renewable fuels and energy as partisan at all. It's beyond that.

Morocco opens one albeit large solar plant and according to Posters here the US is being left behind because Trump said a few nice things about coal? When we have literally thousands of operating renewable sites producing enormous amounts of power with many more either in the construction phases or being planned.

Nothing can stop this progress. Nothing.

Coal usage down 20% so far this year from last and the left cries? Criminy.

Make up anything to bash our POTUS is what I'm seeing. That's not an argument it's a rant

Pardon? I thought you had learned in the past 15 threads where I debunk your ah hmm opinion? That it's not a good idea to quote and criticize me because I'm careful to not be wrong. I may not be right. But seldom wrong.

So here we go. In your previous post. You made deciding politically biased comments about the POTUS then stated we are being left behind. QUOTE below.

Trump and his band of mafia goons in the administration smell a half a trillion dollars worth of oil in the Russian Kara sea. That's why we are being left behind.

My entire post is about exactly what you said. unwarranted political bias on this subject and the fact we aren't being left behind as you and other posters are claiming.

None of it true. Will not be true. Or ever true.

Not in regards to renewable fuels and energy

So you have no proof this has anything to do with the Paris Accords?

    Paris accords drafted November-Dec. 2015.
Solar plant started construction in May 2015. Means planning probably started around 2010.

Funding came in alrge part from The World Bank.

Another win for world that had nothing to do with the Paris Accords.

Wow, just wow! You still don't get it do you? "Trump and his band of mafia goons in the administration smell a half a trillion dollars worth of oil in the Russian Kara sea. That's why we are being left behind." Are you telling me you are incapable of parsing those two lines of thought? Just because Trump has his agenda with Russia and their oil, doesn't mean that we haven't already been doing our own thing with renewable's, long before we even knew this thug was running for president. By making the point that he is "leaving us behind", I would gladly double down on that point. One has nothing to do with the other, unless your sense of logical deductive reasoning needs a little lube of its own, because you are not able to make the difference between the two points?

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the carbon footprint of the average developing country citizen is a tiny fraction of that of an American or any other first world citizen.
    Pfft, it's not rocket science........

    https://newrepublic.com/article/142016/scott-pruitt-chose-wrong-coal-mine-big-speech-reviving-coal

Lol! The Bailey Mine, the largest underground mine in North America, which is more interested in closing its operation and doing something else, got fined $3 million dollars for dumping contaminated waste in the Ohio river.

Saying something nice about coal is one thing, but coal companies dumping waste in a river destroying people's drinking water is another. And let's not even get into Black Lung Disease. I fail to see how any money revenue from that industry overrides a populations health and clean drinking water. Do you?
