The gulf is so wide at this point between the two parties though, that it is right to at least make the attempt, for a number of reasons.

Talking to an adversary is not a sign of weakness or capitulation.

The mystery, of course, is what the hell that has to do with anything I said.

Working with people you don't agree with, or even like, is the professional thing to do.

It's also the smart thing to do. By giving an honest effort to work with all sides of government, Trump removes their ability to say he's not trying.

They can certainly still say it, but then what the Democrats are really doing becomes obvious to people who don't see what is going on yet.

If simply talking to the other side in government makes you angry, then you have the same problem the democrats do.

Business owners are ALL stoked, the economy is better than it has been in over a decade anda lot of it IS BECAUSE OF TRUMP. You can argue that all you want, but business runs of "feelings" of what is to come.

Business owners feel the regualtions being loosened up will help. I speak with them every dya, they are ecstatic. Now the Antifa and unemployed people that refuse to try to work (not all of them, I know there are tons who legitimately need help), but the probably 25-40% of people getting welfare DO NOT DESERVE IT

We need more regulation to check who does and does deserve it. Some people need EVERYTHING for them FOR LIFE, that is fine, but we need to figure out where that line is and draw it for good

Absolutely. Obama was Bush part 3, and now Trump seems to want to be Obama part 2. Trump, like Obama, is doing everything he railed against Obama doing, right on down to the EOs.

I do want to. I tried making a call to a Republican committee person here, but they didn't answer that one time. I'm sure I should *keep calling and calling*. Persistence right? Well, I have something of an enigma with 'persistence' particularly with the phone and calls. I don't want to keep calling, only for my hopes to be dashed, etc.

I'm glad you're glad that your Democratic President is going to work with the party he always supported anyway. It's a win win for you - you have a Democrat in the White House working with the Democratic Party.

I did make a call a few weeks ago, left a message. Unfortunately, we brought in a dog. A puppy pit bull, and she's been tearing into everything., Including a house phone. So it could be a while yet, as we're also trying to get furniture for the house.

Yeah, she's been such a difference from my Shih Tzu, but she's fun to be with to. I think 2018 will be a year where I can focus more on the career aspect. With the house still half way till completion, I should focus on that first. It's just stunting because I feel I should at least have a job, etc. To be 25 and not be where I wanna be in life is a personal disappointment.
