It’s like asking when does an acorn become a tree? I just threw away dozens of acorns does that mean I destroyed a forest

 

Yep, women were forced to be homemakers with few options, dependent on men. Men were denied the option to be the nurturers and homemakers because they saw those jobs as demeaning. Stay at home moms are not ridiculed at all. Stay at home dad’s are mocked because after all that’s called “a woman’s job” It is the feminists that got stay at home moms all kinds of benefits they didn’t have before.....and still fighting for them. You like the good old fashion way with women ran the home in me. Ran the the world.

It is an "it" not a he or a she.

It was never born.

It did not survive to full gestation.

If it cannot survive outside of the womb then it is just a growth inside a female's body.

It is her body.

Nobody should tell her what to do with it.

If it can survive outside of the womb and she does not want it then the State and the People should take custody of it.

The dumb and nonsensical analogies abound. Further ... just because something will become something in the future ... does not make it that something now.

The reality is that a zygote does not actually "become" a human. The zygote cell is gone after the first mitotic division. The DNA carries on replicating itself. The process is really one in which the DNA is creating a human. It first creates a bunch of worker cells ... none of which will ever be part of the human under construction.

At some point these totipotent worker cells arrange into the blastocyst .. a hollow sac of cells that will end up as the placenta. These totipotent cell will then start creating differentiated and specialized cells (the embryoblast). It is the embryoblast that "becomes" the human.

The poor zygote then will never be part of the embryoblast. It will never be one of the specialized or differentiated cells that form the structure of the human body.

So then ...at the zygote stage, if not one cell in the body of a human exists ... can a human be said to exist ?

Then of course you have God commanding the Israelite's to kill pregnant women - which is a form of abortion along with children and babies.

Regardless - leaving the moral question aside "God say so" is not valid justification for law so, have your belief, keep it if you like regardless of how misguided it is - as per the Bible but, keep your religious beliefs to yourself and realize that there is a difference between:

1) Having a religious belief and
2) Forcing that belief on others.

If you would like scriptural justification for the above distinction (in fact it was this distinction which was the rock on which Jesus based his teachings) do feel free to ask.

 

The responsible thing to do in the case of an unintended pregnancy (say when the condom breaks) is to take the morning after pill asap.

In the case where the accident is recognized a little after then, the responsible thing to do is to get an abortion asap .. prior to a human being created.

 

RIGHTS are equal.
